Mackcanuck
https://www.nhl.com/news/pittsburgh-penguins-sign-sullivan-to-three-year-extrension/c-285052006 Pittsburgh Penguins coach Mike Sullivan signed a three-year contract extension through the 2019-20 season Monday. Sullivan, 48, took over as Penguins coach after Mike Johnston was fired on Dec. 12, 2015. The Penguins finished the season 33-16-5 and won the Stanley Cup for the fourth time in their history with a six-game series win against the San Jose Sharks in the Stanley Cup Final. "Mike did the best coaching job in the NHL last season," Penguins general manager Jim Rutherford said in a statement. "He continues to be a terrific coach and we are happy to give him a well-deserved extension." The Penguins are 22-8-5 this season, one point behind the Columbus Blue Jackets for first place in the Metropolitan Division,

Blue_Jays_Canucks
Lol both torts and sully doing great jobs after leaving Vancouver, makes you think more and more upper management is the problem with this team.

WRONG, WRONG and MORE WRONG unless you are referring to the OWNERS as upper management.
oldnews
Impressive the way he turned his forward group in Pitts into the driving defensive force on that team - really played that odd roster to it's strengths and did a great - and unconventional - job. Not necessarily the approach you may have expected from him - but he did speak very highly of his experience in Detroit and what he learned about game-planning there. Took it to Pitt and applied it with great success. Hard guy not to like on top of it all - congrats. Looks like Torture-fella may have picked up on part of his message - that a cookie-cutter is not necessarily the way to go. Here's hoping Torts can get something out of players like Hartnell and Jenner (who he's doghoused). That's a very enviable group he has to work with in Columbus - imo it was only a matter of time with them - their blueline in particular is a ridiculously talented young group. Their getting Seth Jones for RJ, who IMO is a floater, was a steal.

Once you edit title, I will remove) Anyhow, just think, Sullivan was on the Canucks coaching staff, imagined if they gave him the job after they fired Torts.
