Cramarossa
They are hanging Jaro out to dry on this one. I hope somebody claims him. Goaltending is not their main problem.
Boudrias
There was supposed to be a big shake up coming with the Islanders starting with Snow.
smokes
Good pick up just to expose for the expansion draft if they really want to protect thier goalies.

Teams can only protect one goalie and Halak is too expensive to acquire only for expansion. He is on a 4.5M cap hit for another year after this one. The teams who need a goalie to expose (Wild right now have to expose Dubnyk, the Canadiens have to expose Price) are better off to do what Benning did with Bachman - simply sign an AHL goalie to play on their farm team if they can't/don't want to re-sign their backup. OK, thought they had to play a certain number of NHL games first but that only for forwards and defenceman?

Only a couple of months ago he was starring as the #1 goalie for Team Europe, with a 0.947 save percentage (0.001 behind Carey Price), and now he's letting in softies? Plus his goals against is awful, even worse than Kari Lehtonen in Dallas and only better than Semyon Varlamov in Colorado who's just having an awful season. Highly doubt he'd have any takers, since Budaj is doing well in LA and Niemi would be better than him.

Not for the goalies - they simply have to expose one who is signed through next season or qualified if he's an RFA. There's no minimum game requirement. They can only protect one goalie but they need to expose at least one goalie. Russo clarified that with the NHL who confirmed that right now the Wild have to expose Dubnyk. Ds and Fs who are not protected or exempt are exposed. Teams can only protect either 8 skaters or 7F + 3D. But among the Ds and the Fs exposed there needs to be a minimum of 2Fs and 1D with at least 40NHL games over the season or 70 NHL games over 2 seasons. Jam126
Jaro has truly been an amazing goalie. He carried the Habs to the ECF in 2010. He was a great goalie for the Blues and he carried team Europe to the finals.
Nuxfanabroad
They're trolling Capuano. He gets canned. Snow gets demoted to coach; Halak becomes GM.

Father Ryan
Just now, Me_ said: To... create cap space? Ok, given that point of view I still maintain this wouldn't happen. If they need to clear cap space, ok. But what do they need, besides a goalie? It looks like they need a goal scoring finisher (of course who doesn't?!). They also have less depth than we do, in the AHL. it would make more sense for them to look for picks, which would clear cap, and then pursue Halak. Of course, I doubt Halak will be on the market that long. I seem to recall Dallas has some rather severe goal issues themselves.

GB5
Probably the old waive and trade maneuver. Once he clears waivers he is more attractive to trade with a retained salary because then a prospective team can move him up or down as they so desire. Plus, the difference in salary is astronomic.
