There comes a point if coaches only last a year or two and we keep replacing management.........they won't come here.

Look at Torts.  He was out of the league because of this team.  Think if he could do it over again, he would come here?

Torts caused his own problem. Lived in the US. Didn't run practices and acted like an idiot.

WD came in and took the team to 101 points so who is the better coach ?

Honesty.....

Don't retool our club and call it a rebuild .

JB was honest during the offseason, said too much and got fined for it. The team has to try and sell tickets. Do you think saying "Yeah we have a crap team right now, come on out and watch games...but next year..." is going to go over very well? How about Gillis regime? He just wouldn't answer questions, was hardly ever on the media, and never said anything. Was that better?

no such thing pretender.

So you believe JB is rebuilding the team?  Why does Bob Mckenzie say otherwise?  It's a retool on the fly, keeping the old guard, while trying to compete for the playoffs, isn't it?  How is it a rebuild, when trading away draft picks to bring in mid level players?  We traded two young first rounders for more established players, didn't we?  I see JB trying to speed up a rebuild by bringing in older players.

woosh.

there is no "we as a fanbase", certainly not some monolith that an individual protester like yourself can speak for.  you'll need to consult Jan first.

We see what we want to see.

JB signed a 5 yr contract so we are at the 1/2 way point. I'm not here to defend his every move and am looking forward to what our roster and prospect pool looks like in 2 more seasons.

If Alf has connections and can get Bowman and Quenneville here then great. Otherwise maybe it's best to see how this 5 year plan works out before starting another.

I have no problem with linden and benning at the helm because the only true issues I have with the decision making is probably ownerships fault

the Canucks need a hard rebuild more than anything. Go to your vets tell them we're blowing it up and we need a list of teams you'd waive to. That's the only way we'll get back to the promise land cause it's a pipe dream will come in 8th place

sedins, edler, sbisa, hansen or whomever need to be dealt for picks and prospects. Sedins are different, but it's a business and this team has nothing on the horizon besides boeser and juolevi. Virt is in the A, but Utica is a weak team cause they have no depth/no young Canucks who are pushing for a job on the big club.

wouldn't it be a fricken disaster if the Canucks hold true to their word and not trade anyone for assets at the deadline and let them walk and the Canucks finish like in 11th place.

Omg the fans would be outraged cause what can you take from that? Where's the positives? we finish in the middle of the pack with an aging/declining core? What does that do for you next year? If it was young core that's a different story.

I can accept waiting to see what our youth looks like in 2018.

You still need to ice a team. Even Toronto did not completely blow it up. They had Bozak , JVR , Kadri , Rielly and Gardiner as a base to build with. We had Tanev and Horvat. Benning needed to ice some sort of a team. This organization was a mess. That is also why they are still keeping some of the vets. ( We have no depth yet)

They would have had to play a team that would have been so bad that they would have been lucky to win any games. That would not fly in this city and the arena would be completely empty.

We now have a club that will not make the playoffs but will win their fair share of games and are showing a very high compete level. That is an environment where you can slowly bring youth into and help them develop.

Exactly!  This core is old and stale, and has been since 2012.  Torts said as much in 2013.

We have no youth.  JB traded away 12 picks, and young players for older guys.  We have three young D, and Bo.

Every team in the league tries to compete for the playoffs until you reach the trade deadline and management assesses their capability of achieving that goal. The only exceptions to this are the Leafs of last year and the Sabres of the prior year who purposely tanked from their first game. We traded two young 1st round picks as you stated. Granlund has been the superior player to Shinkaruk and will likely have a much better NHL career. McCann was traded to get Gudbranson and you are on record as being a strong advocate of this trade. So what the heck are you trying to say? There is something wrong with Benning switching out players for better players?

For better or worse: We are all Canucks.

There's definitely a "we", but I'm still glad the overly-irritable-knee-jerk-reaction-insert-additional-hyphenation percentage isn't in charge.

Appleboy thinks Alflives has lost his mind. Yes 22 to 25 is older then an 18 year old draft pick.

LOL

Next year you will see Jake and Boeser. Maybe more.

No, not really.  these boards are not exclusively for "Canucks".    there are fans of other teams here, fans of teams with no one to talk to lol, trolls, etc.

and regardless, there is certainly no "collective" voice, even among "we canucks".
