There's also nothing stopping Tarasenko from retiring from the NHL in the offseason, and going to the KHL for the same money, tax free, and no escrow. Yes that was my mistake, this was just my opinion from the few games I watched Barkov play, I wasn't impressed (but all players have a bad game or two) but you are correct he is one of the best defensive players in the league.
