Anton Rodin | RW/LW

b3.

Recommended Posts

This is his prime earning years, so it's only fair for himself (and family if he has any) to get his payday.

With the new addition of Goldobin and Dahlen, plus with Boeser potentially making the jump next season, Virtanen competing for spots, other guys in the minor and who knows if the Canucks can draft some phenom who is capable of stepping in.

I certainly hope that the Canucks can give Rodin another shot next season with maybe some out-clause.  Would allow some prospects to spend more time in the AHL.

I think it's more Rodin not showing loyalty. I mean this guy received a pay check for being injured virtually the entire season. He was with the team on flights, and management was more than patient with him. I'd like to think that he'd sign here again next year and earn his backpay.

Wouldn't even making 600,000 here be a lot more than he would make in Europe?  This is most likely an indication that Rodin is not wanted back by the Canucks.

He was the SHL MVP and the KHL has been known to sign players to multi-million dollar deals often, especially star players. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get over a million per year.

Only way he stays in the NHL is with vegas I think or we trade him elsewhere I do not want him back and think management will trade or let him go with the many players we have to take his spot

He is UFA.

Not till after the draft so we could trade him to any team after the season ends till a week after the draft

True, but I'd reckon his value is pretty low, especially with this rumour surfacing.

So did Rodin undergo this procedure? If so what is the timetable for his recovery and ability to start training? I hope he is given another contract to give the nhl a try. Canucks need all the skilled players possible, icing a ton of 20 year olds isnt ideal imo at the nhl level. good to let them season a bit in the AHL we have 0 need to rush any of our prospects

Hence why giving Rodin another 1yr deal is worth it imo

Surgery was in February. Timeline for

recovery (as provided by team) was six months (including all rehab and training). So he should be 100% by next season's training camps.

Also, based on what I've read on his specific procedure, the odds are very good that he should be completely pain-free and basically "cured" so that he won't have any future knee issues (at least associated with his bipartite patella).

RFA I think. Still, his value would be negligible at this stage.

He is a group VI UFA.

Age 25, 3 years under a NHL contract (2 years playing with the Wolves and this year) and has played less than 80 NHL games.

What a ridiculous comment, he owes Vancouver nothing. That said, I'd love it if he re-signed and was able to stay healthy for a year or more.
