arshonagon
I agree. I don't know anything about Cormier beyond this, but this was a moronic and dirty thing to do. I agree with a previous poster, suspend him for the whole Tourney. And the coach of Sweden is an unsportsmanlike ingenue for making his team skp the handshake and ceremony. Unsportsmanlike for a play that had nothing to do with the game and no place in the game that could have potentially ended one of his players careers(there has been a lot less concussions that have ended peoples careers). In my mind, this was a play to the point that you don't forgive the other player or the other team. it was completely unnecessary and uncalled for, especially in an exhibition game. Completely spineless by cormier and I agree with the Swedish coach, sends a message that people don't accept that, period, in the game of hockey. personally I am proud of the Swedish coach(and a lot of people will disagree with me) because he went against what most people would say is sportsmanlike, but Cormier crossed that line first. Also, in my mind what the Swedish coach crossed that line less than Cormier(potentially destroying a players career versus I didn't get a handshake, come on). RBork77
"It's an elbow to the head. Get over it." It's a handshake. Get over it. Did you quote yourself? it was a non-handshake...and it barely bothered me. more bothersome to me is why someone would write such a useless comment. Cormier's elbow was super dirty, I said suspend him for the Tourney. I never compared the two incidents to each other, but it's one player taking a dumb cheapshot and an international coach instructing his entire team to be a bunch of unsportsmanlike babies. Apples and oranges.

Apples and oranges. Sorry, maybe it wasn't you who compared them but noticed a lot of it in this thread. I still like what the Swedish coach did. That kind of stuff is unacceptable and by just walking off it showed that they won't accept that kidn of cheap play. You want less head shots in the NHL, it can start with stuff like this, IMO. Verloren
Considering Cormier hit someone else behind the play in the exhibition against Finland, I'm really starting to question him being named U20 captain.

KalEl04
watched the swedes smoke the czechs 10 -1. Rodin is a freaking hero. Wins every battle, very quick, exceptional passer, always in good position. Still not getting alot of ice time, but i think he finished the game with a goal and 2 assists. I didnt see his goal, but his assists were beauties. (His first WJC goal was the winner) - I forgot Andersson was playing until late in the game so i didnt really see him but hes very big with surprising mobility. AmazingNuck
Did you quote yourself? it was a non-handshake...and it barely bothered me. more bothersome to me is why someone would write such a useless comment. It was a quick summary of what you have been saying all along. Appeared to, since you kept responding? If it was so useless, why did you respond? Don't respond to this post. It's clear you know nothing about respect in hockey.. I mean, where have you seen someone consider a dirty elbow like that Cormier's as nothing compared to the disrespect of a coach and his U20 team showing support for their teammate in doing something as small as not shaking hands? There's a word called solidarity. When you learn the meaning of it, come back and we'll discuss whether intention to injure another player is worse than snubbing another team for a post-game ceremony.

KalEl04
watched SWE beat Austria 7 -3. Rodin was the best swedish forward of the game, hands down. 2 goals and an assist for Anton today. Got a lot more ice time, and his line with Jacob Silfverberg and Anton Lander is just awesome. I just cant say enough good things about him, except that he still looks really young and skinny. Definatley needs some major growing time... but a force in this tourney so far, regardless.

DeNiro
So that's 7 points in 3 games for Rodin so far. Not too shabby. Could we possibly have two team point leaders again this year? Rodin is startin pretty strong, hopefully schroeder gets it going.
