Bananas
Schroeder apparently fell off the side of the Earth. IMO, he's a total wildcard though. I think Sweatt, Jensen, Rodin, and Archibald will all make noise, but I feel that only one will get get nine games, if any, and none of them would stick. Tanev will be higher than 8th on the depth chart... he's better than Alberts and Rome.
Guest Dasein
Looks like Rodin's been in town for some time now. Practiced Monday with some of the Canucks according to this article: And so it was just Samuelsson, Edler and newcomer Sturm, joined by prospects Anton Rodin, Kevin Connauton, Adam Polasek, Sebastian Erixon and Darren Archibald, who sweated through an hour-long goalie-less workout run by a hired conditioning coach. Read more: http://www.vancouver...l#ixzz1Wex4uGuV Sounds good to me. He'll be well adjusted to our time zone and ready to go for the prospects tournament next weekend. Guest Dasein
That's what I heard as well - that he's grown to be 6'1". I don't know if he's 6'1" for sure, but he's at least 6'0" now. I guess we'll see at the Young Stars Tournament.

elvis15
There's an interesting propsectus on Rodin over at Canucks Army, where they talk about his projected AHL/NHL point totals based on last year as well as more information about shoulder tendinitis he's apparently been battling from last year. And Rodin’s physical issues don’t end there. He’s battled shoulder tendinitis, an injury that prevented him from shooting at times during the 2010-11 season and threatens to stall his development. As discussed in this story from the Province, Rodin’s tendinitis could prevent him from making the leap to the AHL’s Chicago Wolves, which is where director of player development Dave Gagner wants the Swede to play this season. Guest Dasein
Wow. That really makes me wish the Canucks organization forces Rodin to not play for the first couple months and take time off. The last thing we want is another "Hodgson situation" at hand with our next best prospect.

The last thing we want is another "Hodgson situation" at hand with our next best prospect. Hopefully that's already happened. I'm no doctor but the one in the article says it's a quick recovery/rehab time so he's really had plenty of time already this summer to take care of it. Gagner does talk about having to deal with it and play through it, so we'll see what the case is come the 11th.

Guest Dasein
RODIN READYSwedish winger Anton Rodin, 20, the Canucks' second-round pick in the 2009 entry draft, is looking forward to his first taste of North American hockey after playing the last two seasons in the Swedish Elite League. He's also hoping he's solved some shoulder issues that bothered him last season. "I've been seeing a chiropractor here in Vancouver and it's really helped," said Rodin. "On the ice I don't feel a thing. In the gym is where it kind of hurts sometimes. I have to control it but it's getting a lot better." Rodin, a 6-foot,180 pound Stockholm native, came to Vancouver about three weeks ago and said he already is feeling comfortable in Canada. A big help was a recent dinner at Daniel Sedin's house with the other resident Swedes: Henrik Sedin, Alex Edler and Mikael Samuelsson. "It was good," said Rodin. "It's refreshing to know what's coming and all that." Read more: http://www.theprovin...l#ixzz1XcMbFSKE Rodin says his shoulder is getting better, which is good. But I would definitely like to see him say it is 100%. And how about that? Love that Daniel took the initiative to invite a young Swede prospect to his house and let him talk to all the Swedish players on this team, most of them being leaders and core players now. Same thing Markus Naslund did for the Sedin twins I believe. Good to see our Swedish boys continue the trend. I really see Rodin being our next elite Swedish player - following the tradition started by Gradin, then Naslund, then the Sedins and now him. On a sidenote, I hope chiropractors really do work...And there will be no negative side effects when he gets older... Guest Dasein
Can you imagine how exciting it would be for Rodin to even be in the same room as those guys? Let alone talk to them and have them give you advice about thing you should do? We're talking about three Olympic champions here: Two Art Ross winners, one Hart winner, one Ted Lindsay winner and one Stanley Cup winner. He's sitting in the presence of the two best players from Sweden in the game right now. And then there's Alex Edler, who is young enough for Rodin to relate to and can operate as the bridge between the generation gap. Sweden's #1 talent without a doubt is Henrik and Daniel Sedin. And to be from Sweden and to have dinner with them is probably a huge honour for Rodin. Landeskog was just honoured to even see them and talk to them in person for a brief moment during the SCF. I hope the Sedins told Rodin a lot of things about how to be successful. I actually believe that Rodin will have a huge Prospects camp and be invited to the main camp to be the 3rd wheel on the Sedin line for a pre-season game.
