There is no such thing as coincidence. Three solid D pairings, healthy and working as a unit and we are winning, yo!

The back end is really getting it done and the whole team is playing better because of it.  It's pretty tempting to overreact right now but the vision of this management as well as how Willy has deployed and developed the next gen of players seems to be coming into focus. Getting pretty excited and trying to keep it measured. The next wave is taking over. Go 'Nucks!

Benning in one of his interviews said he was thankful for Burrows pointing Sven and Bo in the right direction.  I think it was a real turning point for them to play with him over Skille/Virtanen and that he helped them get going.

Horvat is now 21pts in the 26 games since and Baer is 20pts in 23 games (he missed 3 games).

Love watching this team play the kind of hockey they are committed to.

Puck pressure and support over the full 200ft and very few defensive breakdowns/blown coverages.

That and some good goaltending will allow them to be in a lot of games.

Solid up and down the lineup even with a top 6, top 4, a couple bottom 6 and a bottom pairing D out.

Looks like Benning has built a fair measure more depth than he gets credit for.

Canucks with another strong night in the faceoff dot, winning 62% of faceoffs. Big improvement over last year, Canucks top three Centers are all in the top 40 in faceoff percentage in the league:

8th Brandon Sutter - 55.1%

13th Bo Horvat - 53.9%

35th Henrik Sedin - 49.8%

Looks like Manny has done a great job with the team!

And to think people were so quick to write Burr off after a mediocre season last year stats wise. Some things you can't directly tally on a scoresheet.

Unfortunately, yes. He (Chaput) sould be down where he's needed, in Utica.

He's been there, done that. Captained Lake Erie to the Calder Cup in 15/16 ( played with our Manny there, then, too)

hope they win 5, and beat their streak at the beginning if season.

Sven has 11 pts in 10 games after the healthy scratch.

yes a broken clock is right at least once a day,

a blind squirrel finds an acorn from time to time.

but maybe WD is good a developing young talent, a player that the Flames gave up on.

And almost everyone , including 1040 , were freaking out about it. I got roasted for saying that willie knew what he was doing.

Sbisa and Tanev were great in their own end. Grandlund had a very solid quiet night. Sedin's were good. Not great but good. Baertchi was good all night. So nice not seeing Edler on that side on the pp breaking sticks or firing the puck into shin pads all night long.

Heartily agree.

We needed this as fans.

Echoing sentiments of hard play and effort. Very nice to see a full game. Interesting though, the hits were 27-5 Avs, and that tends to favour the home team as well.

If we are realistically talking about playoffs, this stat needs to significantly change on a consistent basis.

I just hate the strategy of sit back and defend a 1 goal lead at the start of the 3rd

Our D were taking hits on every single forecheck. Not big ones but hits nonetheless
