ANOTHER Canucks Army Writer joins the Panthers organization

UNRISE, FL - The Florida Panthers announced today that Thomas Drance has been named Vice President of Communications and Public Relations for the club. 
 
Drance has a background in new media marketing and has spent the past six years working as a hockey journalist, columnist, editor and author, most recently for Rogers Sportsnet and the Triumph Publishing. 

The Vancouver native was theScore's lead hockey news editor covering men's and women's ice hockey during the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. He spent the past two years as Editor in Chief of the Nation Network, a digital sports media company based in Western Canada. An expert in new media, sports media and hockey research, Drance has acted as a consultant on behalf of communications companies, PR firms and insurance companies.
 
"Thomas is a well-respected hockey reporter and media professional with a unique background and diverse experience in content production, marketing and new media," said Panthers President & CEO Matthew Caldwell. "We are thrilled to add his fresh perspective and communications savvy to our hockey operations department."
 
A former member of the Professional Hockey Writer's Association from 2014 through to 2016, Drance was selected as an NHL awards voter for both the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons. 
 
Drance joins the Florida Panthers communications department currently comprised of Adelyn Biedenbach, Director of Communications & Digital Media, Mike Lewis, Media Relations Coordinator, Chrissy Parente, Public Relations Coordinator, Kyle Morrison, Digital Media Coordinator and Peter Rossi, Website Coordinator. 
 

 

 

I believe that makes him the 5th Canucks Army writer hired on by the management group there. Congrats to guy!

It seems if you want to get into hockey ops, Canucks Army is the place to start.
