COLORADO AND VANCOUVER PROPOSAL( small move)

Recommended Posts

If management is really serious about taking a run at the playoffs then I believe you need to give Rodin a real shot with the twins until Hansen is back as Chaput or Megna did not win the Swedish Elite league scoring title or any scoring titles for that reason and secondly they need to become tougher to play against. Its just a tweak but I would get Cody Macleod out of Colorado for say a 5th round pick and put him on the 4th line. Sorry Gaunce but youre not ready no matter what your Corsi numbers are and you don't create any space for are smaller skilled guys. If Rodin works out the Badger can play anywhere on lines two and three as we are bound to have an injury or two.

With the recent acquisition of Boucher, I think we are set for bodies.  I do like the idea of sticking Rodin with the Sedins for several games, which would put Boucher on the 4th, Guance to minors etc.

Because we are too easy to play against and we miss DDs grit on the 4th line, Megnas not going to give you that, he should be in the AHL

Why would we give up even a 5th for McLeod when players of his ilk are going extinct in the NHL?  If Jim wants to get him they might as well wait until they waive him, plus hardly ever will a 4th liner be the difference maker needed for a team to reach any promised land.

Meanwhile Chaput is above 50% in face-offs, Skille is showing some untapped power winger potential and occasional scoring ability, and Megna's showing Hansen-esque speed and skill at levels enough to warrant a 1st line role in a pinch.  What about any of these players' successes makes you think they warrant coming out for a player who's touted for "leadership", but whose other attributes are readily available in our other depth players (Gaunce, Zalewski to name a few)?

Long story short, as others have suggested, in a skill-based NHL they should just put Megna back on the 4th if Rodin is coming back into the lineup; thing is, they can always just rearrange things if they wanted, but no way should McLeod be on the team esp. if it will cost something to acquire him.

Megna first line role in a pinch,? AHL fodder waiver wire material! Gaunce and Zalewski leadership qualities?? No idea what team or players your watching? None of these guys you talk about are hard to play against or offer any leadership qualities in the slightest. Chaput would also not get claimed if he was waived. Ps your buddies gaunce and Zalewski have ONE goal between them and one of them plays in the AHL, not what I'm looking for, sorry

I actually tend to agree with this.  If we are considering playoffs and looking for a small boost for the playoffs at a minimal cost, adding some size to our line up makes sense.  We don't have enough up front to wear down another teams D over a 7 game series, especially with Dorsett out, unless they try the pedan experiment out again.
