PhillipBlunt
Why is Boucher still in the Current Roster section of CDC? He passed through waivers (slowly I'm sure) and would now be considered a prospect in the system, no?

Canuck_In_Paradise
He's got an NHL shot and IQ, however, he can't keep up to the pace with his skating and stamina lacking so much. If anything, Utica is going to be a great team to watch this year! Probably more exciting than the Canucks unfortunately

Maybe he is just not athletic enough? Very few are capeable of attaining elite aerobic capacity, no matter how hard the work at it.

In an unrelated example, players get waived then bought out. I do not believe because he has cleared waivers, it requires that he be sent down. I don't think the Comets camp has started yet. They could just be waiting for that? He can stay, and be exempt from waivers again for 30 days / 10 games. I just don't know if the exemption starts until the regular season? Team Bagues
It feels like the dark days are slowly slipping away. Nice knowing that guys like Boucher, Chaput, and Megna aren't penciled as regulars. Benning is a beauty!

Green said that the next round of cuts will be on Wednesday or after the game on Thursday - they are probably just grouping the announcements. Btw a player can't be bought out during the regular season. The buyout window runs from mid-June to the start of free agency. There's another window that opens up for teams who have players who file for arbitration but outside of these two windows a buyout is not possible. However, I used to play semi-professional sports and anyone from my teams throughout the many years of playing that were out of shape were like that for a reason: Lack of effort during conditioning sessions. Still, I hope this doesn't kill his confidence and that he thrives in Utica!
Dixon Ward
No comments on Boucher since September 27th. He is leading Utica in scoring with 8 points in 5 games. Suprised this doesn't bring him a bit of attention on CDC. Have people given up on him? Also interesting, look who is between our boys in AHL scoring, Elias' brother Emil! 12 Reid Boucher LW UTI 5 2 6 8 -1 0 2 0 1.60 0.00 16 0 0 0 0.0 13 Emil Pettersson C MIL 5 2 6 8 3 2 0 1 1.60 0.40 10 0 0 0 0.0 14 Nikolay Goldobin LW UTI 5 3 4 7 1 0 1 0 1.40 0.00 7 0 0 0 0.

Probably it's just more a case that people are following him in the Utica thread. Plenty of comments there (as well as reports on our other Comets prospects and young players). Boucher is a very good AHL player, but just not good enough for the NHL.
