Yep. IF, and it's a big IF, Boucher can be committed to his off-season training, and comes into camp in very good shape, he will have a good chance at making the roster, especially given his offensive prowess, and shot. He might be a late bloomer. Been bouncing around a lot in the NHL. so if he gets some stability, will his play also improve? It's very possible, and very likely.

Well you would think he realizes this is probably his last NHL stop before it's back to the AHL buses or some European league seeing that 3 teams have given up on him in less than 1 year. I highly doubt team #4 is going to be waiting with open arms if we cut him lose.

You only get so many chances at the show, I think Reid is on his last & must show up or shut up after this summer.

I'm hoping he shows up because he does have a real knack for scoring goals as we all no. Couldn't be an easier team to earn a top 9 spot than us due to our lack of scorers at this point for him. Hope he sees this & makes the most of it.

Oh man, some real beauties on this list. Smolinski was one of my favorite random deadline acquisitions.

Ehrm... excuse me.

You are one of them too.

Vaananen, Ruchinsky, Smolinski, Weinrich, Carney, that time we re-acquired Sopel, and Derek Roy are some of the finest deadline pick-ups of all time.

I think Boucher can still be a good player, a PP specialist even but whats standing in the way right now is how the Canucks style of play. Its slowly changing but for the most part its still the same way. For example, the PP, how Edler doesn't pass to Boeser , the team ISNT used to having legitimate shooters on the team that are locked and loaded firing bombs on the faceoff circle area, like Boucher, and Boeser. The PP is the pretty much the same way as it was 7 - 8 years ago, you work for the point shot with traffic or down low cycle close quarters. The problem with that its the same BS year after year, with the same catalyst Sedin Sedin Edler, and youll always defer to something familar. Until the 3 swedes are off the powerplay or off the team, its going to be the same way all the time. Watch the Oilers, the Pens, Sharks, really high powered offences play, its the volume of chances they get from different areas of the ice is what makes them dangerous, and not the passing till you get the perfect shot type of deal we've been seeing the last few years with this team. I mean, how many times do we get a powerplay with 4 shots? almost never and the top teams seem to do this on a regular basis

ok, 334th place. Wonder where's Eddie Hatoum's rank.

372nd.  Had he had a few shifts with the Sedin's, I'm sure he would've been completely clear of Byron Bitz.

370.  Marc Chouinard C 42 2 2 4 -2
370.  Stu Kulak RW 32 2 2 4 -10
372.  Dave Fortier D 58 1 3 4 -15
372.  Ed Hatoum RW 26 1 3 4 -14
372.  Randy Holt D 22 1 3 4 -1
372.  Brad Smith RW 21 1 3 4 -7
372.  Len Lunde C 20 1 3 4 -3
372.  Neil Eisenhut C 13 1 3 4 0
372.  Byron Bitz RW 10 1 3 4 2

Boucher should be given net duties on the PP he knows how to score in close.

Great composure in the net front scrum.

I really think theres more there with Boucher, if given a chance, I think he can make a Markus Granlund type of jump. A guy that really wasnt sure where he fit to being a mainstay in the lineup. The key is the Canucks really have to change the way they run their PP, knowing the fact they got legit shooters now rather than the pass it to death to get a perfect shot garbage theyve been doing

Yeah, notice where he likes to score from, in close. Like garbage goals but with quick hands. And he seems pretty elusive in the slot and iskates quick to find the open areas.

There's something there with Boucher.  Let's hope he shows up to camp fit and does some work with Bo's skating coach.

I hope he's not on the Wellwood plan this summer.

I have the feeling Boucher might get the Kenins treatment. I get the feeling that we might end up with too many guys that have higher ceilings to allow Boucher to play a middle six role, leaving him to the 4th line. From what I've heard, his defense is pretty suspect, so he won't likely be able to play well there. I'd guess he's in the AHL next year, but maybe he surprises me. He definitely has a chance at sticking with the big club if he works hard.
