Actually so far in this thread most are wanting to pass and that's a good thing for a change.

Speak of waivers, Pavalec with the win:P

And, as usual, makes a phenomenal save because he insists on being out of position for half the game.

Its a shame, cause he has a cool name. And yes, I low key judge prospects on how cool their names are. Just watch, its gonna be the new analytics.

To be fair, I judge draftees by their names. I've been wrong on some players (Nick Jensen sounds like an NHLer, but he busted), and I'd have Puljujarvi as a bust based on his name. Jake Virtanen would be an NHLer according to my name analysis, so we'll see how that pans out.

So if Trevor Gretzky tried out for the Canucks... instant star? B)

The most embarrassing is when I spend a couple months doing prospect research, but all of it is done on the computer over text and written stats. So I never get the chance to hear the names said out-loud.

Suddenly they come up at the draft and the name it is pronounced drastically differently than I thought/have been pronouncing it when discussing the prospect. Puljujarvi was definitely in that club.

I am the most clever.

This is tough...

Boucher deserves more of a chance.

However, with Rodin injured (and likely not returning until the tail end of the season... if at all)... we are sort of weak in our forward depth. In all honesty, I think he's worth the waiver claim. Have him sit in the press box for a bit and then waive Megna and Skille once Hansen (and possibly Rodin) return. Griffith, like Boucher, fits in that "20-24" year old range that the Canucks are missing in their prospect pool. Griffith is also a proven goal scorer (at the AHL level, at least) and is probably worth taking a flier on... especially with our injuries.

He'll likely get claimed by Colorado, though...

No, those names don't seem to have much success.

Additionally, names like Fedor Fedorov and Denis Denisov are ones to avoid.
