*Buzzsaw*
Yes its great that Henrik got his 1000th point, but he didn't get it on an assist by Eriksson. It was Daniel and Edler. Neither Eriksson or the Sedins have been doing much before that goal. They are just not jelling. Which is the exact opposite of how Eriksson was playing with Granlund and Sutter... Remember the win streak the team had going? That was on the back of the Sutter/Granlund/Eriksson and Horvat/Baerschi/Burrows lines... We had two lines going well, and it was keeping the other teams off balance. We were scoring in bunches. Now the Sedins are still not going, and Granlund and Sutter don't have chemistry with Megna... so its usually up to the Horvat line... and they can't be hot every night. Daniel and Henrik don't pass to Eriksson anyway... they pass to each other or the point. It doesn't matter if its Megna or Eriksson on the line, both get ignored. WD get it into your head... the Sedins need to get going on their own... or when Hansen comes back... in the meantime, put Eriksson back with Sutter and Granlund and get some production out of that line. IBatch
Sounds good to me but maybe give it a few more games....Could be he faced internal pressure given Megna on the first line was raising too many eyebrows including his?

Twilight Sparkle
i always saw the eriksson signing as just signing a guy with some kind of name value. he does some stuff for the team's defensive structure, but that's a large pay cheque for any other guy around the league we could get for like half the price

Tied 2-2 with less than 1:20 to go in the 3rd. Then a Toews goal with the Sedin-Eriksson line out and an EN to finish 4-2 Blackhawks.

Ghostsof1915
No in context Messier was a mistake. At the time Eriksson was a 30 goal scorer on a offensively starved team. The term was long, because that's what a UFA wants. Let's back up a bit shall we? - Sbisa from the Kesler trade. He was a whipping boy, and the subject of blame. Now folks don't want to trade him. - Granlund for Shinkaruk. Fans were up in arms on this one. Now, not so much. - Baer for a 2nd rounder. Fans thought it was a waste until he found a groove with Horvat. Detecting a pattern here? Give Gudbranson and Eriksson some time. With the contract he signed we do have patience. Had no issue with the Kesler trade I didn't like the guy but enjoyed what he did for the team Shinkaruk trade I didn't like, thought they could have recieved more from that deal but Granlund's performed well so no loss there. I liked the Baertschi deal Flames got roasted on that one.
Strombone
MAYBE, just maybe, the Sedins and Eriksson are just tired from playing since this past summer at the worlds? They've pretty much been playing hockey for about 2 years straight. This thread is why we shouldn't lose games; the fans end up dissecting the overly dissected frog. 2 hours ago, *Buzzsaw* said: Daniel and Henrik don't pass to Eriksson anyway... they pass to each other or the point. Some players just can't play with the Twins, usually the less skilled. Eriksson is still swimming in his money so I don't expect him to gain traction until next season if he isn't traded by then. Provost
Yeesh, constant yells about Megna being taken off the top line and replaced by Erickson because we weren't scoring. Now complaining the other way.... You do understand that we don't have a lot of quality forwards and not enough to go around right? There is a reason management has been publicly trying to get one for months.

Sygvard
I have no problem with Eriksson. He hasn't been the 30 goal scorer that he was in the year that we signed him, but I think he has looked consistent with the player he was every year before that. Aside from that single high scoring outlier, Eriksson has always been a defensive, possession specialist. The quiet, responsible two way forward that was always putting up decent goals and in the conversation for more under-rated player. I'm sure everyone remembers that. Sooner or later the Sedins will retire, clear that chunk of money off the books, and we will have an exciting team of mostly kids. At that point it will be nice to have that one quiet, defensive vet to slot in on any line that needs stabilisation. I don't begrudge the slight contract overpay at all in that context. On the traction part Ericsson took some time to gain some in Boston after doing well in Dallas. He is a sound defensive player maybe the coach is hoping he can be the guy to get the puck back and to the Sedins I don't know. One thing about Ericsson is that you notice him he has good speed.
