Canucks Player Grades by TSN's Craig Button

All the grades are fair and well assessed. Looking at Eriksson's grade is pretty dismal considering the money we spent to get him... 5 more years of this from him.. hope he turns it around in the 2nd half. also Hansen should be higher if he wasn't out with injury more than half of the season so far

Pretty fair actually, I'd make a couple changes:

Markstrom: B (He's been very solid, just being out shined my Miller)

Stecher: A- (Not even expected to make the team and you could make a case for him being our best Dman this season)

Sedins: C (Underperforming, especially relevant to their cap hit, but it was to be expected at their age)

Chaput:  C (I mean yeah he doesn't do much but who really expected him to, Gaunce stays at a D because there was a bit of expectation)

Eriksson: D- (By far the biggest disappointment, huge drop in scoring and on a huge deal)

Outside of those everyone is pretty accurate IMO.

I give Willie a B+, I know everyone hates his deployment but honestly I can't think of a worst roster aside from Arizona and he has this team in the playoff hunt.  With the roster he has to ice night in and night out that is pretty impressive.

Gaunce has been a disappointment in my eyes. Drafted 26th overall, has 1 goal in 65 NHL games. A big, young forward who continues to be a non-factor.

Stecher should be given at least a B+, maybe an A-.

I think Button's grades are pretty fair.

So, if Daniel and Henrik are each given a B-, and Bo is given an A and Baertschi is given a B+ (better grades), then why aren't Bo and Baer on the top line?

Someone should e-mail this to Willie LOL

Willie doesn't determine our top line.  The other teams' coaches do that by matching their top shut down defensive players against them.  When we see Bo and Baer getting matched against the other teams' top shut down guys, then they will be our top line.  Right now, other coaches still play their best guys against the Twins.  (IMHAO, of course)

He is quite fascinating to watch.  He's basically your standard 4th line/depth forward but every once in awhile he does something amazing with puck and he reminds you that he was drafted 7th overall.

I definitely feel that he's our best of the 4th liners.

Edler is too low, Gaunce is a little bit too low (maybe a C-), and the twins are too high. I wouldn't say the twins are anything above satisfactory this season. Markstrom is a wee bit low as well, but not too much. A surprisingly fair list overall.
