Provost
I see a lot of chatter about some of the names out there, but haven't heard much speculation about Detroit. They need a top 4 D badly.... we have a spare top 4 D. Seems like an fitting trade partner. I would propose something like: To Van: Nyquist To Det: Hutton 2nd or 3rd round pick Nyquist has fallen off a lot in the last couple seasons but even in a bad year is a top 6 winger, and is still young on a decent contract with term left. He is a great skater and maybe could recapture his scoring touch and be comfortable on a line with the Sedins now and one of our top lines in the future. Tatar is almost an equal player in terms of skill and trade value. The issue on our end is it adds a forward that needs to be protected and gives up a player that doesn't need to be. It would more likely be something that happens after the expansion draft.
Down by the River
After Benning explicitly said he wouldn't be trading picks... I'm pretty sure there would be a collective aneurysm after this trade.
hammertime
I like it. We will have to see what our D looks like post expansion though.
Alflives
We already have Baer, so do we need another guy like that in Nyquist?

Outsiders
pass. He's already 27 and declining. Hutton is improving and only going to get better
Pears
If we're trading Hutton it should be for Duchene or a guy like him.
Vanisleryan
Hutton doesnt need to be protected. Nyquist does....no thanks.

I presume you mean if we are trading Hutton, Virtanen, our 1st round pick, and a roster player? ... because that is the asking price for a "guy like him" at the moment. Fanuck
Would rather keep Hutton and shop Tanev, as his value at the deadline to a contender could be substantial.

Guest
No because NHL 17 says that Hutton has the most trade value and we don't get enough back
PlanB
17 hours ago, Alflives said: Top prospect and a first? Isn't that what Yandle returned? Quote The Rangers acquired defenseman Keith Yandle, defenseman Chris Summers and a fourth-round pick in 2016 in exchange for defenseman John Moore, top prospect Anthony Duclair, a lottery-protected first-round draft pick in 2016 and a second-round pick in 2015. The Coyotes also are retaining 50 percent of Yandle's salary in the deal. I'm not sure Tanev could get that much but certainly he could demand at least a first or a top prospect - likely not both however. Now, if JB throws in an exchange of picks (not giving up picks mind you) into the deal it would be anyones guess how that turns out?
