1st and 4th line shake up.

This is a simple two part, short and sweet question to see what ya'll think.

Is it not time to slot Bo on the 1st line.. he's been our most dominant force this season.

And secondly... When do we start seeing what our Utica depth can do on our 4th line... pretty much anyone could match the production of Gaunce? Chaput... c'mon. Re-call Grenier or Valk, let's see what they can do.

Why put that kind of pressure on the kid if we don't need to?

Let me re-phrase.

Any forward thinking idea's for this team should be built around him, imo. As far as signings etc.

When he resigns this summer, one could argue next year might be the year we change Captains, and have the Sedins mentor him for a year in that new role.

I think things like PP time, ice time to a degree as well, should be given more to Horvats line. Eventually this kid will be in that role. He's clutch now in pressure situation it seems, and with a play off spot falling, why not see how he does?

It would work if he had first line wingers, even Henrik right now doesn't have it.

no experience, just opinions, like the rest of us. it takes years to grow as a coach. it is the old saying, those who can, do while those who can't just critizise, those who can.

Burrows would be a better 4th liner than any of these 3

Valk is a bit small (5'9") for a 4th liner- I'd rather see Zalewski (6'2") or Labate  (6'4") there

Hansen belongs with the Twins .. he's most effective there, they are most effective with him there

Erikson meshes well with Sutter and Granlund - great chemistry with them

Pair Sbisa with Tram - they bonded well earlier

Hutton will be back in a week - partner him with Tanev

Is Subban better than Stech? We don't have the luxury of playing 2 smurfs

Maybe stick Bo infront of the net on the first pp and start giving them more offensive starts.  Problem is I'm not sure how the Sedins will do taking on more of a defensive role. They responded well  for the first half of the Torts experiment but fell of the cliff later on and that was a few years ago...This year they seem slower than ever and I don't have a lot of confidence ( and I don't think the coaching staff does either) in assigning them to chase picks in their own end and bring then back up the ice.

The best we can hope for is a healthy Hansen on the Sedins line and offense by committee which for the most part we've been getting.

We also need more offense from the back end in the goals category.

Horvat has done enough to earn so better chances particularly on the first PP unit.  Maybe this is something they can work on in practice and the if it's working well come game time.

This year we dont really have a first line more like two servicable second lines and an excellent third line.  Maybe next year with the arrival of Boesser things will change...Or maybe L.E. will come out of his funk the same way he did after he was traded to Boston...

Gaunce - Chaput - Skille has been pretty good in my opinion, they do what a typical fourth line is supposed to.

Horvat is developing just fine, no need to throw him on the first already. However, I'd like to see someone other than Burrows tried on the Horvat line, I feel Eriksson or Hansen could really elevate Sven and Bo.

Bo getting increased ice time, and the other team matching their top D against him would essentially make his line the first line. Its not really a matter of Willie going "Yeah Bo your line has a 1 next to it not a 2".

Our lines are all pretty nebulous right now anyway.

I expect to see Henrik willingly hand Bo the C at the start of next season.  If he doesn't.......

You mean our long tenured, beloved, salt of the earth captain who just got his 1000th NHL point should hand the C off to another player because he had a good season? That's silly. I'm fully in agreement Bo will be the next captain of the Canucks but only when Henrik is retired/moves on.

I'd actually like to see Willie stick with the top 9 he started the night with. We had more net presence and quality shots in the 1st 40 min's than we've had in a long time. Even though Loui and  the Sedins didn't produce, they still draw top defenders and left Sutter-Hansen and Bo-Bear to get better quality chances. Lets see if that can continue, 3 goals against Dubnyk is a good accomplishment for this team.

Do you suppose that thought's perhaps crossed Henrik's mind though? Bo's clearly the way of the future, and yeah, Hank has done a lot for this team.

Helping the new lineage of leadership come along seems like something  he'd be on board for.
