a lot of people on twitter are saying this could be a Forsberg/Erat 2.0! i hope so :bigblush:

I wanted Erat in Vancouver for ages. The guy is shifty and deceptive AF. You never know what he's gonna do which makes it hard for opposition to contain him.

We haven't had a player like that since Mikael Samuelsson

You seem as confused today as you were yesterday. I love Benning and what he has been able to do. Benning is following the overall direction that was given him from above. Owners should have allowed them to blow up the team 3 years ago and we would be farther ahead. They needed to let him do what he dose best. I hope he has permission to move  few more pieces yet this year.  Not just older players.

JB has actually been doing what HE said he was going to do from day #1. Only problem U & your friends don't understand that it takes time & patience. And when U compare us to Toronto or Edmonton it really shows your lack of NOLEDGE...

Dahlen was just ranked our 3rd best prospect.

Right behind Boeser.

By one guy. Most consider Boeser our best prospect and Juolevi second, so he would be behind Juolevi.

If you go by Craig Buttons list he is at most the 5th best, after Boeser, Juolevi, Demko and Gaudette given that they all made the list and he did not. This doesn't even factor in Virtanen, who isn't on the list so we don't know if Button considers him better.

Don't get me wrong, good trade, great prospect. But I don't think he is a guaranteed first line scoring winger. The guy on 1040 who said he was our 3rd best prospect considered him a second or third liner, so basically Granlund. But he is younger and could beat out all expectations.

For the evidence contrary to this, all you have to do is look at whats happening on the Ottawa board. It's already been posted here.

They are IRATE.

Imagine if we traded away Boeser for a 36 year old vet. That's what's happening over there. This was hands down an unbelievable deal for us.

Yeah, but some people here were irate about Shink. Read some of the Sens fans talking about their prospects - They're as bad as our forum with overvaluing them.

I still like and think it's a very good return for Burrows. I was thinking maybe a conditional 3rd round pick would be good value for him.

Please don't let the sedins mentor him. At this point I like the sound of his game.

You don't want former Art Ross and Hart trophy winners, who consistently show up to camp in excellent shape mentoring our youngins?

Almost very similar, but only difference Tkachuk plays with more of a chip on his shoulder and likes to get under others skin, while Dahlen isn't like that.

No, they're not at all alike.

Dahlen is more like Hansen with better hands, or somewhat like Pavelski.

Are u back on the bus for today...:towel:

Very proud of Burrows.  Not always a fan of everything he did on the ice...

But very Proud of the Warrior that he is and the  total PRO  he is the way he handled the UFA situation -  Gave back to his club....

Burrows will be remembered for this....   Well done. Alex.

This is not a crazy trade for Ottawa, although I would have expected the Canucks to retain some salary.

What we need is two (or three?) more trades or prospects from deadline deals. Then we can be confident that at least one or two will pan out. With picks and prospects it is largely a numbers game and we need more numbers -- more solid prospects in the pipeline.

Agreed but there has to be a starting point for one of those solid prospects and this does that.  Hopefully more moves will add more prospects but this is a good start.
