Sounds like the scouting report on Tkachuk

Thats what I was thinking.  Though MT is a fair bit larger if I'm not mistaken?

I'm not concerned.  By all accounts he is already producing in a men's league and has all the attributes already that are harrd to teach like hockey IQ.  Get him working with Horvats skating coach and I'm sure his speed can improve.  Plus by all accounts he is continuing to improve overall at a good pace so we should see him with our big club in only a couple of years.

Sentimentalism aside, this was a robbery of a deal on Benning's part.  Maybe this kid doesn't amount to much, but even the decent chance he will is enough to make this a lopsided trade.  Ottawa fans are shocked.

I'm honestly surprised and shocked that we were able to deal Burr for a decent prospect like Dahlen.

Lots of emotions on the board today. From sadness that Burr is no longer a Canuck, to excitment that Dahlen could become a top six producer on this team moving forward.

It's probably somewhere in between. I'm hoping for Burr to come back to Rogers and be given the love, respect and appreciation that he deserves. He means so much to this franchise over the last 12 years, even in the years where he was "declining". I'm hoping that Burr comes back when all is done, signs a one day contract and retires as a Canuck. Wouldn't that be special to this franchise, and it's fanbase.

Gonna miss Burr, but I'll be rooting for him during the playoffs, and hope Ottawa can go deep and win Lord Stanley for Alex.

My wife's sad that Burr is gone. He was one of our favorite players on the team, simply because of his story (how hard he had to work to get to the best league in the world - this said a lot about his character, and his work ethic). We're going to miss him tremendously as a player, and person that's been part of the team, and most importantly, part of the city and communities.

I hope he comes back to live here and raises his family here. he and his family would be a welcomed addition to this city and it's communities.

In case you missed it...

Jonathan Dahlen, C/LW (Timra IK, Allsvenskan)

The son of long time NHL winger Ulf, Jonathan plays a similar game to his father utilizing a nice blend of skill and creativity, though he doesn’t yet have his dad’s height. Despite being on the smaller side, Dahlen plays much bigger than his size as he’s not afraid to battle toward the front of the net and dig in the corners. He’s a pesky player when he’s on the forecheck and is relentless in puck pursuit, often creating a turnover that he sets up for a scoring play. Dahlen has the wrist shot to score, quick and frequently used, as much as be a distributor in the offensive zone, which is considerable owing to high end vision and passing. He has a good first step, even though his overall skating could use refinement to become elite, and his puck hound nature ensures he is always involved in the play. If Dahlen can round out the finer points of his game he may very well wind up being a steal in the second round.

RANK: 35th

Burrows was a warrior for the Canucks from the start, constantly throwing himself into the fire.

I hope to see him hanging high in the ring of honour BEFORE his career is over... nothing like a place called home.

If Dahlen with promising game, can play with Burrows tenacity,. We will have something very special.

Another great move Jim Benning.

Thank you Alex.

He has been trying to do what the owners wanted and done good considering. However if they had of let him blow it all up three years ago we would probably be miles ahead of where we are now. ( our system would be full) I  really doubt this approach was Bennings idea.

You have your way of looking at it and I have mine.

We  agree on one thing and that is that Benning is a good GM. Lets just leave it at that.

This might be true that we both agree JB is good. The difference is I follow & cheer U always have a BUT....

Did Dahlen screw their wives/girlfriends???

Of course their players are happy, they're not thinking about some 19 year old in Sweden.

It means that their GM is going for it this season, which I'm sure they appreciate.
