insomniac604
Dahlen might be better than the late 2nd/3rd pick we could have gotten in the weak draft. Was kind of hoping Burr might re-sign here in the offseason. Maybe if he's still playing in a couple of years we'll see him again on the 4th line. Overall good trade. Miller next hopefully

Hairy Kneel
Hansen/Edler/Tanev/Sbisa/Hutton we have a lot of NHL players that could help a team push for playoff position and post season play. The post season is a Marathon that needs bodies to survive, especially on D. NB Hamuis hip for instance.
Bruce Boudreau
So Dahlen sounds like a worst case Markus Granlund or best case poor mans Jeff Skinner. He is not a great skater. So Dahlen needs to improve like Horvat. This is easily Bennings best trade so far could go down as one of the greatest in Canucks history. Benning just earned himself a 5 year contract extension. Imagine the haul we would get if we traded Edler, Hansen and Miller? I don't think we'll be any worse off next year. We'll need to make a couple UFA signings but our young guys will have improved and should cancel out most of what we'd be losing in Edler, Burrows, Hansen and Miller, who will all be one year older. JaboVancouver
What the Canucks have proven with Bo Horvat is that they can help players work on their skating and turn it from a liability to a strength. If Dahlen can put in the work I am hoping they can get that side of his game worked out. You can work on speed, but you can't teach the vision and hockey sense this young man apparently has. I think what this shows is that when you have players who don't put up road blocks to trades like last season Jim Benning can get the job done. In two years he has turned things around with young, solid defensemen, and I am confident with his ability as a scout that he will get things done with our forwards. This trade is a great small step in the right direction. Thank you Alex Burrows. You were a warrior for this team. You were a thorn in the side of every team you played against, while being a consummate pro off the ice and great in the community. You will always have a home in Vancouver! kilgore
Disgruntled Ottawa fans will soon be happy I predict. As long as Burr remains healthy. He has a knack for scoring series ending goals.

Dr. Crossbar
And this year's Top 5 draft pick to a possible future of ... Dahlen Boeser Juolevi Gaudette Lockwood Brisebois Still a ways to go but looking much better. The future can't come soon enough.
Warhippy
You're all missing the big picture Have Dahlen drafting Petterson. Dahlen/Petterson Have Gaudette will sign Aston Reese. Gaudette/Aston Reese That is 2/3s of 2 lines with pre existing chemistry just needing a 2nd winger slotted in. Then we draft Dahlen 1 or 2 next year to ensure another decade of Swedes with the same name on the team Forward thinking by playing the long game
