Fun Fact, Jesper Bratt and Jonathan Dahlen were drafted in the same draft from the same league

D+1 year:

JB: 46 GP 22 PTS

JD: 45 GP 44 PTS

Bratt has 23 PTS in 33 GP with the devils so far this season, so the jump is definitely possible from the Allsvenskan to the NHL.

Am I seeing this correctly? Dahlen has twice as many points in one less game played as Bratt had (when he played in Sweden)? Damn, Bratt is a good player, so this gives high hopes for Dahlen.

I don't get it when people say these things..

1. Rodin didn't outplay anyone to make the NHL roster, he was also a healthy scratch many times in Utica.

2. Tryamkin chose to leave, Benning even said he made a very good offer, but Tryamkin chose to leave for personal reasons. It's a relief his AGM in Russia has said he wants to come back.

3. Forsling was traded for Clendening because Gillis literally left us no depth, and we needed it with all the injuries.

4. McCann for Guddy can be argued for sure. I really liked McCann but we also had no D depth (same as 3.) and it's nice to get a D-man with Guddy's size.

5. All these signings were made so we do not rush our prospects. I don't mind any of them even though I am not a fan of some.

I see people panicking over these kind of things on twitter and hfboards and I don't understand it at all. All our team has been doing is trending in the right direction and Benning has been making this team younger, without making panic moves, yet people complain that he's made and will make bad moves that don't make sense...

Rodin outplayed Gagner, Burmistrov, Virtanen, Vanek and certainly Chaput and Boucher ( who got called up instead of him)....Rodin will prove to be better than all those guys.

Forsling was thrown away and Clendening did nothing for us.

Tryamkin had to deal with WD telling to fight, etc.,...Benning should have put a stop to that before it even started.

I like Benning ...I think he is building a great team here ....but those were mistakes and the Rodin one is biting us in the butt right now...having to play Boucher or Burmistrov in place of Rodin is painful...

If Dahlen comes to training camp next year but doesnt make the opening day roster. Would it be more likely he goes back to SHL or the AHL?

I would prefer if he stayed in the AHL, play on the smaller ice, but also could play with a couple young canuck prospects down in Utica also. Gadjovich, Lind and possibly Gaudette could be their next season. I dont mind development overseas like Juolevi for a season against better competition due to the rules of junior hockey. But think it would be great if we try to have some success grooming a few prospects in Utica for a full year or so

I think it much more likely we see Gaudette before the other two forwards you mentioned. I’m kind of assuming we have him join us towards the end of the season, like Boeser last year.

My guess is that Gaudette doesn't see any amount of time in Utica.

Hopefully same as the Boeser situation. Come in at the end of the year to show what he's got. Then impress in training camp and hopefully work his way into the lineup. He's got the potential for sure. He does a lot of the little things right besides scoring.

What did Rodin do that made you so attached? He struggled and had ridiculous injuries problems. Sorry but he wasn't what we had hoped.

Rodin was broken...talented yes, but just couldn't handle the physicality of the NHL.  Injuries kept him out of the lineup, not his skill.

I tend to believe it was more political...JB brought in Gagner, Vanek and Burmistrov and wanted to bury Rodin until needed to play those guys....granted Vanek is scoring goals but both he and Gagner are still taking bad penalties, getting beat on D. and in Gagme's case ...loosing the puck consistantly....don't know why anyone passes the puck to him unless he is in front of the net.

Dahlen and the rest of the kids are going to make Rodin and Vanek and Gagner and Burmistrov all redundant as soon as next year ...so I will get over it....by then...

Are you referring to Larsen?

Oh shoot, I mixed those two up!

I gotta mind my Björns and Ulfs better next time!

That’s the dream! Could you imagine Växjö reuniting Pettersson and Dahlen on a line and Dahlen’s ppg reaches the same highs as Petterssons.

And then next season they take the next step and join the Canucks as a ready made two thirds of a line. Worked out ok the last time we brought one of those over from Sweden. Got my vote.
