Looking like Dahlén to Färjestad (SHL) might happen soon.

Nothing definitive yet but several Swedish tweets suggesting it’s very close. Rumours are that the teams have worked out a deal and are waiting for Dahlén to approve the move. For his part, Dahlén has said that he remains focused on Timrå right now.

Hockeysverige article (translated): link

Rumour is Färjestad would send Fabian Zetterlund and Olle Eriksson Ek to Timrå.

I tend to believe it was more political...JB brought in Gagner, Vanek and Burmistrov and wanted to bury Rodin until needed to play those guys....granted Vanek is scoring goals but both he and Gagner are still taking bad penalties, getting beat on D. and in Gagme's case ...loosing the puck consistantly....don't know why anyone passes the puck to him unless he is in front of the net.

Dahlen and the rest of the kids are going to make Rodin and Vanek and Gagner and Burmistrov all redundant as soon as next year ...so I will get over it....by then...

See what happens when conspiracy theorists take over your forums and  constantly claim there is a conspiracy against the Canucks by the NHL, the Refs, the media and everyone else associated with hockey...

It eventually develops into nonsense like this. Now the Canucks' own mgmt is conspiring against the Canucks. lol.

Because the logical thing wouldn't be to just not sign players you don't want... right? :picard:

Your hate for Gagner and Vanek have blinded you my friend. But thank you for the laugh. Your criticisms lose weight when you make claims like these.

I don't know if this has been posted or if most of you have seen it but the bit about how he learned of his trade is funny.

I didn't see this at the time either. It seems he thought he might have a chance of playing at the start of this season. His Dad Ulf played nearly 1000 games in the NHL and was a 7th o/a draft pick and stood at 6'-2" and 200lbs.

Hear his opinion on Pettersson

OMG, you actually believe a GM of an NHL team "buries" more talented players (if they are more talented) over others in some twisted plot of "need to play those guys"?   Really?

You actually believe the GM of your hockey team would sit better players, intentionally burying them, simply to avoid criticism over an unrelated player move?   Think about it - why on earth would someone do that?!   Why would you intentionally submarine your own team?!

I have read a lot of odd things on this board - this is now into the top 10.

The alternative would have been to waive Gagme or Vanek or Burmistrov all of whom would have been gone at that point...either claimed or not interested in coming back...with Rodin he could bury him and wait for injuries to happen....the injuries just didn't happen quite in time...if we had him in the system for 2 more weeks he would have been called up and playing....

I have had it explaining myself to people who have no vision....if you can't see it ...just listen....otherwise....

Just watch Rodin coming back to bite our collective asses!

Appreciate the comment.   The fact that your GM didn't cut a player to save a spot for an injured player you like (and I do too, look at my posting history) means that anyone who doesn't see this as a conspiracy against Rodin has "no vision"?

Dude, not sure you have "had it" with anything other than winding yourself up to the point where you actually believe the management group of your team actually is going out of the way to not allow better players into the lineup even if it means cutting them.   Just think about what you are saying for a second.

Dude. The Rodin stuff needs to stop, it's getting embarrassing.

Not sure why everyone is so upset at this Rodin thing... Guy played a couple pre-season games well last year... This year couldn't even stay in the Utica line up, but we should have kept him over players who are NHL'ers. I was hoping for big things, but never happened.

Now back to this Dahlen kid! He's a Beaut!

Just had a quick look at the numbers and I believe that’s his 6th game winner of the season.

Timrå has 15 wins over Dahlén’s 26 games played. So since his return, 6/15 or 40% of the team’s game winning goals came off Dahlén’s stick.

Timrå has 61 team goals (and that includes shootout winners) in Dahlén’s 26 games played. He’s figured in 30 of them.

And, at least based on my quick count, he has 24/30 primary points this season (16G 8A1), which is an 80% PPP (primary points percentage).

What's his best position, winger or centre?

Definitely winger.

Pretty much every scouting report says he’s better on the wing and I share the same opinion.

He’s a better finisher than playmaker. He’s strong for his size, but he’s not a big guy by any means. He’s a decent skater, but not effortless. More of a darter who can be quick in bursts, but doesn’t blow you away with his movement going from end to end. He’s decent defensively, but doesn’t really have a centreman’s grasp of three zone defensive responsibility, and kinda picks his spots rather than providing sustained positional defensive coverage.

I mean, can he play centre? Yes, he certainly can. But I don’t think that’s where you get the most value out of him as a player.

So he's like a Phil Kessel? Dahlen looks quite stocky too (has chubby cheeks) :P

Also do you know if he's going to Utica soon? Or is he going to finish the rest of the season in sweden?
