Cleveland, Ohio, police are searching for a man who they say killed an elderly man and broadcast it on Facebook Live.

The incident happened at about 2 p.m., police said.

In the video, which has since been removed from Facebook, the elderly victim, later identified by police as Robert Godwin Sr., 74, can be seen raising his hands in an apparent attempt to ward off his attacker before he is shot once in the head. Police initially said the victim's last name was spelled Goodwin.

Stephens claims to have committed multiple homicides, according to police. No additional victims have been found, though officers are searching multiple locations, police said.

And here's the kicker:

Stephens is a member of the assertive community treatment team at Beech Brook, a mental health organization in northeast Ohio, a spokesperson for his employer confirmed.

Much rather have America as our neighbors than a hell of a lot of other countries, wouldn't you?  Yes the US has troubles, but it's not too long ago we let a guy walk free after only eight years ago he sawed off another person's head and friggin' gnawed on it.

You don't remember the guy riding the bus in Manitoba, who sawed off another passenger's head, and the began to eat it?  Now the guy is completely free, has a changed name, and could be your neighbour.  It's not just America that has troubles.  Maybe our justice system is too liberal in their sentencing?

Lot of crazy people in America.

On the other hand if he did this in Canada, he would be out in couple of years.

This.

At least he will spend the rest of his life in prison or be sentenced to death like the animal he is.

You have to excuse.  @Hugor Hill he is a Wynne and Trudeau liberal they seem to like to stand up for the criminals.

I have great respect for Canada as a country, not only because my wife and mother of my kids is Canadian.

But when it comes to criminal justice, I feel that judicial system in Canada is like American gun laws, out of touch with the reality.

You are correct.

How do you treat a man that murdered his children?

You can't. These people are no good to society, there is also no need to waste money feeding these people. Get rid of them.

Exactly, if/when they catch this guy he's never getting out of prison in America. May even get the death penalty, depends on the state.

Ohio has the death penalty, but the crime(s) need to fall under one of these circumstances:

  1. The murder was the assassination of the president of the United States or person in line of succession to the presidency, or of the governor or lieutenant governor of Ohio, or of the president-elect or vice president-elect of the United States, or of the governor-elect of Ohio, or of a candidate for any of the foregoing offices.
  2. The murder was committed for hire.
  3. The murder was committed for the purpose of escaping detection, apprehension, trial, or punishment for another offense committed by the offender.
  4. The murder was committed while the offender was under detention or while the offender was at large after having broken detention.
  5. Prior to the murder, the offender was convicted of a previous offense having as an essential element the purposeful killing of or attempt to kill another, or the current offense was part of a course of conduct involving the offender's purposeful killing of or attempt to kill two or more persons.
  6. The victim was a law enforcement officer, and the offender knew or reasonably should have known that fact, and the officer was either performing duties or the offender acted with the specific purpose of killing such officer.
  7. The murder was committed while the offender was committing, attempting to commit, or fleeing immediately after committing or attempting to commit kidnapping, rape, aggravated arson, aggravated robbery, or aggravated burglary, and either the offender was the principal offender in the commission of the aggravated murder or, if not the principal offender, committed the aggravated murder with prior planning.
  8. The victim was a witness who was purposely killed by the offender either to prevent the victim from testifying, or in retaliation for prior testimony.
  9. The offender, in the commission of the murder, purposefully caused the death of another who was under 13 years of age at the time of the commission of the offense, and either the offender was the principal offender in the commission of the offense or, if not the principal offender, committed the offense with prior planning.
  10. The offense was committed while the offender was committing, attempting to commit, or fleeing immediately after committing or attempting to commit terrorism.

He'll be eligible for the death penalty under #7 and if he really has killed multiple times like he has claimed to, he'll also be eligible under #5.
