right, but with corporate and union $ out of the picture, why not a renewed Liberal party under someone else? you're discounting the possibility but if Weaver and the Greens can do it so can someone else. We could even see an actual Liberal party and a PC party after this, given that the current version is really a blend of the two.

Because corporations will still find ways to get them money. Do you think those people are just going to give up and say "oh well"?

A grass roots party, with an 'actual' leader getting a few seats is a lot different than an established party (and everyone it's beholden to) getting a new leader and claiming to 'renew' itself.

The Liberals would be fools to split. It would ensure they likely never see a majority again.

Christy Clark to make announcement at 1:30 p.m. PT prior to release of NDP-Green pact

wonder if she's hanging them red slippers up and calling it a career?

Go figure, having to make it JUST before the Green/NDP announcement.

So she's going to test the confidence of the Legislature in June and will not be resigning.

Clark predicts that the Liberals will be defeated in the confidence vote and that the LG will ask the NDP/Greens to form government.

...and I had my fingers crossed and everything.

I still feel like she's past her best before date.  My prediction:  the NDP/Greens will take their turn at being government and while they are at it the Liberals will try to re-brand themselves with a new leader before the next election.

@S'all Good Man @debluvscanucks, according to her press conference, CC wasn't even in the negotiating party with the Greens/Weaver. If she had real power and influence in her party and was one of the few pulling the strings, you'd think the 'leader' of the Liberals would be front and centre there, no...?

My point being that she is Premier...time to grow a set and BE a leader.   She represents the liberals, so it matters little.  Them, her, whoever.

I laugh at "the elegant thing to do" is step down idea.  Crusty is anything but elegant..she's a cheap form of elegant.  A fake smile hood ornament.

Can someone make a Christy Clark hood ornament please/thanks?

Don't disagree with your assessment of her but unfortunately, her job description isn't actually leading.

In fact that would probably get in the way of her doing what sh was actually chosen for. The money and power brokers wouldn't want someone leading and thinking for themselves.

You're talking "how it is".

I'm referring to "how it should/is supposed to be".

And more and more, people are wanting to see some of the latter.  We've seen enough of "how it is".

The world is waking up.  We may have taken some of this stuff for granted in the past, in a naive way of thinking that those in power could be trusted as such.  We're learning, more and more, that isn't the case.  Just look South to see how everything's going south.

With that, to simply accept that it is what it is?  Nope.

Great move! Gives the greens a bit more time to fight with the NDP.

Put in a throne speech that does an even better deal than the NDP is giving. Then watch the greens vote it down!

What fun!

Acknowledging is not the same as accepting Deb. Ignoring it or wishing away the reality is no way to change it.

LOL. No wonder women don't want to run for politics. All the other women pile on like crazy. My sister only spew vitriol about her to, as if she stole her boyfriend or fired her from work or something!

A man would never face that kind of hate. Not sure why it exists though. Jealousy?

This is just so wrong, hardly up to your usual standard Ron, are you feeling alright? What about how Zalm and son of Bennet got treated? Forgot that already?
