LOL. No wonder women don't want to run for politics. All the other women pile on like crazy. My sister only spew vitriol about her to, as if she stole her boyfriend or fired her from work or something!

A man would never face that kind of hate. Not sure why it exists though. Jealousy?

Don't make this a sexist thing.

I'm quite sure we see an equal amount of hatred for Trump.  Gordon Campbell was another.

Jealousy?  Haha, no.  I pride myself on being ethical, kind, fair, honest.   Not sure Christy can even spell those any more.

Women often hate to see other women (or men) use their power and exploit things (if we are to go there).  Fake women tick off other women...we generally see right through it.  It's shallow and transparent.

Families first, coming from a woman/mother, was intended to sell us on something.  And I have little regard for women who sell themselves (and us) to the highest bidders.

Good try though...

Simple.  Christy is hated for the person she has shown herself to be.

How did it go for Christy at SFU again ? What happened there for her..... ????

Perhaps the women in BC are just more perceptive than us males........

Doesn't appear that way  Not that gender has anything to do with it.

Christy being reviled will be her last duty as Liberal leader. It will allow them to more easily rebrand the party under a new leader to sell to all the patsy's. The more hated, the better.

Good luck rebranding a party that has damaged our province so severely with its policies of   housing INACTION  policy ,   useless Mega projects  /  huge DEBT creation  and McJOBs  job creation....

That's precisely why they need Christy hated and people thinking she was the leader

All the easier to paint her as the one pulling the strings and 'out of touch with voters and the province'. "

"We've got a new person in charge now and they're going to do things differently now that we're not being run by that witch Christy!"   And people will fall for it.

The problem is BC needs planning that's 50-100 years ahead. Because it's going to be cheaper now than in the future. But politicians don't care about 100 years from now they care what the sound bite is on the evening news. Worse, now it seems we're governed by people determined to sell us out.

This trend needs to be reversed, and some long term, hard decisions need to be done. Basically choices that are for the good of the province as a whole. Not just fat cats, who want to get richer.

I agree with you.

Keep her around longer to she can be the fall person....    I agree.

Hey, she usually polls like ten percent better with men then with women. That's math.

I am just usually shocked at the amount of hate, and don't really get it. Perhaps it's a shallow/transparent thing.

Personally, I could care less is the leader was a total jerk that spat on my shoes, so long as he/she ran the province correctly.....

Because it's a cycle that's been going on for 40+ years. Party A stays in power for 12-20 years. People finally get sick of them, elect party B. Party B finds out things are way worse than they expect. Spend 4 years trying to fix the damage. Then Party A puts all the blame on them, scares the voters that Party B saying they are incompetent. And then Party A is back with different faces but it's the same thing. And the cycle continues over and over.

Looks like they are putting the site C dam under review, while keeping construction going in the mean time. IMHO almost too late to pull out already. By the time they are done it will be way too late. Score one for the bad guys, they can't loose now!

If it's determined to be unviable via the BC utilities commission, it's too late now, and you can blame the liberals for not pushing it forward. So you build it anyways.

If they say yes, go forward, and pat yourself on the back for doing due diligence.

If it goes well, pat yourself on the back for guiding the project through a not so well though out process (not true, but hey, pat yourself on the back for putting more thought into it!)

If it goes to hell, and budgets go crazy, well, it's not your baby. You just tried to do the best you could. Bring it up at the next election, fast ferry like, and pat yourself on the back for doing the best you can!

You get to oppose the project, while simultaneously building it! Heck, if it goes really well, claim credit for it even!

That requires smart, informed (and not scared) voters. Know where we can find some?

Well aware. I've been one of the few in here suggesting we voters attempt to change that, throughout the election.

It's a laughably dysfunctional cycle that voters seem all too happy to continue with.

Yes, it may become the Fast Ferries symbol for the BC Fiberals.

HOld it up high and promote it for all the money it is LOSING>    Use it to swing the next election.....

It's not even built yet!

It's going to take 20 years to know if it was a good investment. It's all about long term energy prices.

Anyone that claims a victory or a loss right now doesn't understand how it works. Or at least will be talking to an electorate that sure doesn't.

Which is of course why they will!

What fun!

P.S. It's a license to print money IMHO.

Told you she'd have a tantrum and won't just go quietly. Surprised she hasn't insisted on a new election.

It was probably the right thing to do given that the LG had already asked her to form government.  It puts the next move in the hands of the Legislature which she said would happen pretty quick.

Having a tantrum would have been holding out until the fall.  And that would have been the wrong move.

How about we follow the lead of Europe, go with wind, tidal, and solar (in some places). Maybe get the existing infrastructure upgraded before putting in mega projects that would put a strain on our old transmission lines. Try and research into things like thorium salt reactors (in stable geologic area), algae fuel, and have a broader energy cocktail, and provide more jobs, and longer term jobs?

I don't feel that she has run the province correctly...I feel like she takes credit for a lot of things, underestimates and under reports on others and, well...straight out lies on some.

Sure, just expect it to me more expensive per MWh than the dam.

Actually, compared to the existing legacy Hydro dams, everything is either less green, more expensive, or both. Which is why it's impossible to compete, and why everything else gets a bad rap.

Gordon Campbell built a ton of those things, and even today I heard someone on the radio complaining about the costs. Those things are expensive!

And if the Europeans had a river like the peace that had additional hydro capacity that hadn't been built yet, you can bet your bottom dollar they would do the same thing. They just don't have the option.

You can study this around in circles like crazy.

If you want to copy Europe, build a gas enhanced waste to energy plant in the lower mainland. You want to talk about the only thing that can compete with those legacy dams, well then you would be on to something!

Besides, main contracts are already signed and under construction. Way too late to put it back the way it was. It would probably literally cost more now to not build it.

Selling  / exporting Electricity to the USA at a price that is lower than it costs to produce it  is  not  a good business plan.

Was this power planned to be used with our Imaginary LNG Plants...

The duchess of dunbar sprinkled magic Fairy  dust on the BC voters last election.  This time people saw through her  lies.

BC is a net importer or electricity, but due to how the spot market works, makes a ton of money doing so, due to the ability to have power readily on or off due to the nature of our large existing hydro electricity capacity. I would say that Hydro (which should be a darling to every socialist out there) has got the whole selling/exporting electricity business working out very well in our favor. Hydro has been pining for site C for decades.

I am not sure what lies you are referring to.
