knucklehead91
What's your thoughts on teams having a coaches challenge on penalties. Being that Bonino just sealed up game 4 for PIT by selling a highstick call that was about 6-8inches from his face... what if coaches could have a challenge for penalties they believe were sold and if they were successful in the review the team that is selling the call would go on the PK as opposed to the PP. Sure it is another stoppage in the game but it's not one that would take substantial time to review and could really sway things in the correct direction, might even get rid of a large portion of diving. -SN-
Given the disaster that coaches challenges already are, I don't think we need more. Put a third ref in the commentators box with a direct feed to the refs. They can watch replays and easily nix the embarrassing crap like the Bonino call with minimal stoppage. Fanuck
No. Penalties are already so arbitrary we don't need some dweebs in a room in Toronto deciding every facet of the game.
luckylager
Hell no. The process is painful. Refs should be interviewed after games and held accountable by the media though.
knucklehead91
Holding someone accountable after the game doesn't change the outcome of the game that just happened. Doesn't have to go back to Toronto, the reffs can review it quickly on a tablet and rectify it during the game. Bad angles can't hold reffs according accountable if they can't see everything and make a call based on a reaction.
J-23
I am tired of slowing down/ stopping the game to review a play, goal, call etc. We are going to have to count on our refs (I know it is going to be tough, since there trash).
Hairy Kneel
I missed the Bonino move but cheating like that in the playoffs is not sportsmanship. It is bush league and should be stopped. These moves will be emulated by kids watching. Not good for the game at all.
Squamfan
i think it should be like the NFL. 1) All scoring plays are automatically review. and if the refs miss something in it then the coach can challenge it. 2) Allow coaches to challenge everything they want and if they get it wrong 2 mins for delay of game. ex. the binino flop. lets say it was game 7 and it was OT and he that played happened the the PENS scored on the pp that was a game deciding play. But with a challenge the Torts can say the stick did not it him and no penalty. The league has made it a gong show and if they follow the NFL rules its better for the coaches and the league

The puck was going in the net and some sharks player put his hand on it and the ref and a great view to it. In that situation the reporter could have asked the rule is when you put glove on the puck in the crease its a penalty shot so why did you change the rule all of a sudden. This will make the ref do a better job because they know what will happen when they face the media
