There's clearly a lot of opportunity on this team at the moment given our situation. It actually does make sense for him to come here for opportunity. Read rumours today (just weak sources so far) of Dadonov's deal coming in at $3.5 million AAV. Ship+Dado for $8 million per would be a great start for Vegas. Very reasonable cap hits. And if their NHLe projections hold (roughly 80 and 60 NHL points/season respectively) this would represent 2/3 of pretty good first line. Especially for an expansion team's opening roster. And one signed on the relative cheap.
bloodycanuckleheads
Quote Why judge a player based on where he's from rather than his actual words? You are right, a local-boy chose to play for one of the worst teams in the league because of the opportunity, and not because he grew up dreaming of playing for that specific team! /sarcasm
apollo
I know they haven't drafted yet but this is gonna be a team that'll challenge for the playoffs... I keep doing the mock draft and the team they make is incredible for an expansion team... not to mention the UFA's they'll have access too. Heres my quick team... 10.5 mill cap space to spend in FA market including Ships salary. This is definitely a playoff team IMO. Man I wish, we were the expansion team this year lol... -Vintage Canuck-
The Vegas Golden Knights contract with Vadim Shipachyov was rejected by the league for including a no trade clause, which Shipachyov is not eligible for. The Knights have submitted a new contract to the league without the clause.

Those are the projections I read in a recent article on the top KHL free agents. It's based on NHLe which assigns roughly 0.8 NHL points for every KHL point. Quick math check seems right. Shipachyov scored 190 points in his last 153 KHL regular season games (past three seasons). 190pts/153GP x 0.8 NHLe * 82 game season = 81 points per season in the NHL It'll be interesting to see if the numbers hold true. I'm slightly more conservative and don't predict a perfect NHLe conversion. I'd say he gets closer to 60-70 points. But he could very well prove to be a point per game player in the NHL.
