[Proposal] Trade Proposal, Benning's remark of Europe skill and N.American heart

Recommended Posts

This could mean only one thing...draft day trade;

Landeskog for Tanev + Granlund. Mark my words Gabe will be Bo's ride or die LW next season, and Boesser on the right side. Personally, this line reminds me a little of the West Coast Express; SPEED, COURAGE, and SKILL. This could be Benning's Picasso. That is a 1st line worth the ticket price, and the nucks could build around. Also, I hope they grab Cale Makar, this kid will be our #1 defender for years to come. Also, count on Virtanen making this team next year, he's taking things very seriously now, and looks like he could work himself into the second line RW position playing with Sutter and Baertschi. This moves the Sedin's to the third line, which might end up being a blessing as they will see third line D-pairings at times.

I think you're trade is a good one, but (maybe?) it's Tanev + Baer for Landy?  I can see why the Avs would want Granlund though.  Their centres don't play any defence.

I think we'd need more in return, and Colorado is likely to retrigger their rebuild and probably not want to give up any picks.  The other issue is that we're moving our best asset for another winger, when we really need to get a solid 1-2 center.  The trade would actually benefit us more before the XD as it would enable protecting Sbisa... unless LV has no plans to take him anyway in which case it doesn't much matter.  Post-XD the combo of Tanev and Granlund should be able to fetch something pretty significant, although I'm rather hesitant to let go of Granlund after the promising season he just had.  Baertschi may be preferable, considering we have other winger prospects closer to his skillset.  And indeed -- he could end up a 50-point player and not far off Landeskog's numbers.

Sakic just said that they want to go young next season.  They are not going to trade for Tanev when they are apparently making Barrie and Johnson available.

McAvoy, Carlo, Sergachev are the guys they were targeting.  It's Juolevi that would have to go the other way and a younger player than Baer or Granlund - they are from the same draft class as Landeskog.  MacKinnon, Jost and Rantanen are the core they want to build around going forward.

Tanev + Granlund + 33 overall + 55th overall for Landeskog + 4th overall.

We win that trade, but not by as much as you might think.

I thought of something like that as well, but let's face it Col. needs to rebuild like us, they're actually a little further along as they have better pieces. Col. would be acting not congruently by trading the 4th OA.

Tanev is young, he's hitting his prime, he's a legit #2, he would help dearly transitioning the puck to their forwards. Every team in the NHL will be in on Tanev

Overpayment by us. Granlund outscored Landy last year and Tanevs a top pairing D. Tanev for Landeskog would be more fair but I wouldn't do that. Landeskog isn't old but Id rather get a first or younger prospect for Tanev.

Draft picks are crap shoots, Landeskog is exactly what Benning is talking about European skill and N. American heart, 20-30 goals, 30 assists and 150 hits... need I say more, and you fill a top line position. This is how you build championships, draft well, trade well. Every single team that is a contender has made these types of blockbuster deals, trade from a strength to land FORESURE pieces. Ex.'s Kesler to Anahiem, Johansen to Nashville, Kessel to Pitts...

This would be a great trade.  I would also like JB to consider signing Jan Kovar on a 1 or 2 yr show me deal.  He looks really good in the World's right now.  I know the rumour was on a reddit feed but it got me watching the Czech games lol

Good trade for the Canucks, but not the direction that Colorado is going right now. They are going to rebuild again around younger players and draft picks. This trade is not in line with that at all. This is a classic homer proposal that doesn't take the trading partners wants/needs into consideration.

I doubt Colorado is interested in this.   I still have concerns over GL's injury history and long -term physical condition.

I'd pass on this deal,  take either Glass or Middleman at the draft and while we're at the draft I'd trade Tanev to Washington for Bowey and a 2nd because I think that's about his right value on the open market.

I agree that COL may not want to do that trade. They would want prospects and/or picks most likely OR also a top notch D like Tanev.

To COL: Tanev and CBJ 2nd

To VAN: Landeskog and 4th

McKenzie says under 24.  Landeskog is just out of their age range - he was drafted in 2011 so younger than him.

^ this one. Prob have to throw in a 2nd round pick and maybe even a prospect like McEneny given how he went 2nd oa and his the captain. But its worth it.

I like Baer a lot but when you look at future lineups and IF Jake plays better as a LW Baer gets squeezed out of our top 6 pretty fast. And Granlund has turned into something of a swiss army knife playing either wing or C and on any really, kind of like Hansen a bit.

the +Baer gets it done, and imo is ultimately worth it. Slot Jake in at LW with Sutter and Goldy as RW for the 3rd line.

The fact is we need to gather up some elite potential players, and its going to cost in the short term.
