Orange Glue Stick
A class action lawsuit is in the works against BC Place after thousands of fans missed U2's opening act, Mumford and Sons, on Friday evening. Despite doors opening at 5:30, concert goers said it as long as 3 hours for them to gain entry into the arena. The lengthy delays were caused by an issue with the credit card entry system, a tool that has been in place with Ticketmaster for the last several years in effort to stop scalpers from buying and selling tickets. According to Tim Ayres, BC Place staff eventually stopped checking tickets and allowed people in for free. One woman said she decided to leave the line-up and go home because of the lack or organization from arena staff; she was hoping for better luck in Seattle, where U2 will play on Sunday. While a lawsuit has yet to be filed against BC Place, PR company Oak Media says they are in the process of communicating with hundreds of concert goers and putting together evidence to bring forth to a court. Josh Xiang, Oak Media's CEO, says, "Fans paid to see both the opening act and main act, and BC Place denied them of that and made no effort to rectify the problem or compensate those individuals. At the very least, those who purchased tickets deserve a partial refund." http://poundofbutter.ca/2017/05/bc-place-u2-lawsuit/

Toni Zamboni
hopefully the majority ended up getting to see U2 and that their night was only partially ruined. i agree, that anyone who missed out on part of what they paid to see, deserves a partial or full refund, along with an explanation and apology. on the flip side, im happy to hear that they are trying to mitigate the scalping problem.....with all the robo buyers/scalpers, its a crappy situation for the real fans of these events. Sedintwinpowersactivate
I went to the concert last night and it was a gong show outside. Our tickets said to enter at Gate G which was lined up wrapping up and down a staircase probably a 2 hour wait. We asked a BC Place employee who said you can enter the building at any gate regardless of your ticket (that gate is just closer to your seats), so we went to another gate and got in the building in 15 minutes. I heard the main problem was that they needed to check everyone's ID and credit card to allow entry if they bought through ticketmaster. We bought through stubhub and had printed tickets. I also heard that floor seats could only enter through one gate and that was the main problem area that took the longest to get through. It definitely affected the crowd energy, because after some big U2 hits the crowd energy died a bit. I don't blame people for being pissed off... that wait would have ruined my night! DonaldBrashear
Not surprised. These anti-scalper methods are stupid.

But I'm the type of person who thinks people paying for bottled water to be delivered to their doors is absolutely insane in North America when you have perfectly clean water that you are already paying for. Or Duluth.
HI5
This is why I watch U2 on YouTube. No line, low cost and I can attend the concert at a click of a button.

Armbar
So I'm assuming the people that got in on time and had to see Mumford and Sons are suing?
Warhippy
Angry to miss mumford and sons? 2 maybe 3 years ago that might have meant something but now...meh Honestly, unsure a lawsuit is the answer if they got to see the actual show but, people need to be angry

Depending on where you live, tap water isn't all that great in NA. Most of the US has fluoridated tap water which can have very negative impacts on long term health.
