This is so sad. What the hell is wrong with people? No wonder why there's so much hate in our world. Can't even live in a country like the United States (and even the nicest city in the country) anymore without having to worry about this crap.

Thoughts and prayers with the people of New York.

sigh, we (Canada and US) need much stiffer penalties for blatant intoxicated driving. It's one thing to be 20 or so milligrams over the legal limit, 0.07 instead of 0.05, but when someone has shown a disregard for the safety of others while driving under the influence and has a history of DUI's, need more then a slap on the wrist.

Driving isn't a right, it's a privilege, seen far too many stories of reckless a**holes of both sexes severely injuring people or killing them, who have a long history of infractions with only minor consequences. Courts need to start banning people for 5, or 10 years from driving and in some cases just outright ban certain individuals from ever operating a motor vehicle again.

This dude is going to prison and his life will never be the same when he gets out in 15 years or so.  He'll be fortunate to even receive a limited license allowing him to drive to and from work only.

Richard Rojas, 26, told a witness that he had wanted to kill the pedestrians of Times Square whom he hit with his 2009 Honda Accord, according to court documents. He also allegedly added that he smoked PCP-laced marijuana before the onslaught.
