its funny the lengths cons have to go to in order to make themselves feel better about Justin beating Harper

It's funny that some still latch onto Trudeau beating Harper when someone criticizes Trudeau.  The election is long over. I'm just pointing out the obvious.

@kingofsurrey B.C, Saskatchewan, Manitoba have right wing governments soon Ontario and Alberta will be added to that list and on Tuesday Nova Scotia may elect a conservative government.

Clearly you must not live in BC if you think provincial/federal parties go hand in hand.

This simple-minded lifestyle is not for me.

Nice try.

For a Canadian Political Party to be capable of leading this country , they need to represent more than just one region.

Conservative Party of Canada / Alberta is  dinosaur party with very outdated  ideas....

The Conservatives were the government until 2015. They may form government again in 2019. Recent polls show the parties neck and neck while the conservatives didn't have a leader. Also the conservatives raised far more money than the liberals. If I were a liberal those things would be concerning, especially when You add in a massive deficit and more taxes.

Outdated ideas like fiscal responsibility? Every chance Justin gets he tosses taxpayer money at some cause, digging us further into debt. At some point this debt has to be paid and until then we are paying the interest.

Provinces have far less jurisdiction over societal values and rights.  I would consider voting for a fiscally conservative party that cut out all the bigotry and alt-right BS.

I guess you can never vote Canadian Conservative Party then.....

Who is denying women's rights? Scheer very clearly said gay marriage and abortion will be left as is just like it was under the Harper government.

CDN Conservative Party has always welcomed candidates that deny women choice....

Prime Minister Stephen Harper is publicly contrasting himself with Liberal rival Justin Trudeau on abortion, noting the Conservative Party does not require its candidates or members to be pro-choice.

You do realize Trudeau implemented that for new candidates right?

Existing Liberal mp's are free to have that opinion.

OTTAWA — The anti-abortion group Campaign Life Coalition is calling on Conservative supporters to help leadership candidates Pierre Lemieux and Brad Trost win the party crown — and says it will do the same for Andrew Scheer if he jumps into the race.

The CLC expects Trost, Lemieux and Scheer — who is expected to enter the leadership contest soon — to champion social conservative issues on the campaign trail, including speaking out against abortion and supporting traditional family values.

From your own article. You need to inform yourself on politics.

"Our government is going to do everything we can to keep from reopening that particular debate," Mr. Harper said.

"People are welcome to join the Liberal Party regardless of their personal views and express their views, but when it comes to voting on legislation, that is a different thing," Mr. Trudeau said.

Anti-abortion group RightNow cheers election of Andrew Scheer as Conservative leader

http://www.straight.com/news/915961/anti-abortion-group-rightnow-cheers-election-andrew-scheer-conservative-leader

  • Andrew Scheer is the new leader of the Conservative Party of Canada.ANDREW SCHEER
  •

Former House of Commons speaker Andrew Scheer can thank anti-abortionists for helping him become leader of the Official Opposition.

The "political pro-life" group RightNow claims to have sold thousands of memberships during the Conservative leadership campaign. And it has just issued a news release congratulating Scheer on his win.

RightNow states on its website that it's "committed to nominating and electing pro-life candidates".

It also declares that when there is "a majority of pro-life politicians in our legislatures...we’ll see pro-life legislation passed in our country".

"Andrew is a leader we are excited to work with because of his voting record, positive pro-life policies and his goal to unite the party and accept that social conservatives need to be part of the conversation," another RightNow cofounder, Scott Hayward, said in the news release.
