amplified0ne
Markstrom + Tanev + Retain for Morrissey + 13th 2017 Draft. Obviously WPG needs goaltending, but unsure if really Markstrom is above what WPG has now but it would certainly help fast track our rebuild. 5th overall playmaking centre, 13th overall powerplay d-man. Hellebuyck > Markstrom. Not to mention cheaper. Tanev? Are you fricken kidding me? So Winnipeg solves their lack of depth of LHD by trading their best LHD for ANOTHER RHD? This would be the RHD they'd be rolling out opening night, if they made this brain dead trade: - Byfuglien - Trouba - Myers - Poolman - Tanev Why? Oh yeah, not to mention they trade the 13th overall, which rumours have them selecting needed LHD, Juuso Valimaki. Typical CDC trade, where no thought went into what the other team needs. I'm not saying this trade is any good., but helly is not better than Markstrom gaa of 2.83 save%903 Marky gaa of 263 save#917 Just cuz you're from Winnipeg so am I by the way. doesn't give you the right to spout your opinion without facts. whos the team looking for A goalie? Helly better than Jacob what A joke. And you do know he gets better the more starts he gets right.

What he needs is a veteran 1b to help shoulder the load for the next two years. They'll go after Mason, Elliott, or Bernier. Because they only cost money. Not a terrible trade. Winnipeg has a really good team (a lot like Calgary) it's their very poor goal tending that's costing them. Markstrom would really solidify that for them. Markstrom is 3 years older but only played in 25 more games. Why? Because he hasn't been good enough to be a starter. He's a good backup. Nothing more. He does nothing to solidify Winnipegs goaltending

Plus, our team is not that good, and Winnipeg's is full of good players, especially on D.

If the Canucks saw him as a true starter they wouldn't be looking at bringing back Miller. He's certainly not an upgrade for Winnipeg.

Ronaldoescobar
Again way way way way overvaluing canuck assets (truthfully outside of horvat and prospects they have none). Also as Monty pointed out they wouldnt be trading a LHD (where the need is) for a RHD (something they have plenty of and 90% of them better than Tanev anyway). also Markstrom, while not far behind, is definitely not better than Hellebuyck

I was thinking you could probably flip Trouba to fix the LHD which wouldnt be easy. Do you really want to wait another 5yrs for a Dman to develop? Need to take advantage of the entry level deal that Ehlers and Laine are on.
