Van - Buff (Proposal)

Recommended Posts

Yes........

Tanev and Baertschi + 3rd (64 OA)

for

Reinhart and Bogosian + 2nd (54 OA)

So here is why Buffalo does this............

Kane is an UFA next season and Buffalo does not have a replacement for him, Tanev takes hard minutes for Ristolainen opening him up to be more offensive.

Buffalo keeps their 8th OA and picks a LD or a LW and can protect themselves.....the swap in picks evens out taking Bogosian

So here is why Vancouver does this........

Reinhart gives us our 2nd 1st line center and allows us to concentrate on continuing the rebuild without worry of position

(We have young wingers, we have 2 young centers, we have young dmen, we have a young goalie......now BPA without worry)

In Bogosian, RHD.........he gives us size, and is only 26, with 2 years on his contract...6'3" 220lbs)

The swap of picks just gets us a tiny bit more choice...10 spots

Vilardi/Glass or Heiskanen/Lijegren/Maker......................take the one of Vilardi/Heiskanen/Glass.............sorry no flyers on Maker or Liljegren

My gut tells me to offer Dallas our 5th OA and McEneny for 3rd OA and take Vilardi...size/IQ/meanness/scoring

Keeping in mind Kane will be here as a UFA in a year......

Oh yeah, do not give up the 33 OA pick.......

Damn I am excited! And I think Buffalo does this......what do you think?

So looking forward..........our rebuild depth looks something like this

Vilardi              Reinhart          Boeser

Dahlen             Horvat            Goldobin

Grandlund       Gaudette         Virtanen

XXXX              Gaunce           Lockwood

          Joulevi               2018 1st

          Hutton                Stetcher

          Brisebois           Gudbranson

                      Tryamkin

                        Demko

To me, that is a pretty good looking depth chart.........maybe not such a great NHL team next year, but one hell of a depth chart....more on the farm and more to come!

I mean, I would take that trade in NHL 17. I don't know if Buffalo would. I have no idea what the general consensus is around the league in regards to Bogosian's value. I think Reinhart's value is likely higher than what Vancouver fans think. I don't see Reinhart in any trade unless a first is involved.

You're right. There is no way Buffalo will consider moving Reinhart without either a first or a very good prospect. But i also highly doubt they want to move Sam.

i know reinhart's value is high, but it isnt higher than drouin's. Tanev and reinhart swap could be realistic.

I like the proposal to be honest I also think a Tanev and Baertschi and the 33rd oa should fetch Reinhardt and a their 8th. I also think it's feasible considering buffalo has to make a move to get in the playoffs this year they have too much talent to waste another year and Reinhardt wants the chance to be a number one and won't be with Eichel there.

Jan..tried this GINORMOUS proposal, few days back...

Van: Tanev, Sbisa, Bearcheese, our #5OA

Buff: Rhino, Bogo, Foligno, #8 OA

We'd add some beef, & don't lose a protection slot(Rhino's ineligible)

our D:

Edler ..Stecher

Hutton ..Bogosian

Pedan/Holm ..Gud/Biega

4LD/ 4RD lots of muscle, & guys who can fire a heavy slapper.

REINHART IS THE KIND OF CENTRE WE WANT UNDER 24 AND VERY TALENTED! I WOULD TRADE FOR THE FUTURE STAR WHO WOULD BRING EXCITEMENT TO US FOR 10-12 YEARS..

TANEV AND 55TH FOR REINHART... REMEMBER YOU HAVE TO GIVE UP SOMETHING FOR A TALENT LIKE REINHART..

Doesn't seem to be their mindset.  Botterill refused to give a timeline.

how about Tanev, Baertschi and Dahlen for Reinhart,Boghosian and Buffalos 1st.I look at Dahlen like playing  with house money at a casino. He was a big overpayment fo Burrows. If you can take a player that is suppose to be a good to really good prospect and turn him ino a 1st with rest of the package you do it..Another scenario.Tanev Baertschi and 5 for Reinhart boghosian and 8th pick.If there is a time to overpay for a number 1 center. This is it.Of course this all being said if Reinhart is in play.

Want to keep Dahlen.  Put Goldobin in his place.

Depends on what Buffalo want...they'd probably want some sort of center going back to replace him in the depth chart and we have Gaudette who may well become a decent center.

TO BUF: 5th overall + Gaudette + Tanev/Virtanen (depending on what they want)

TO VAN: Reinhart + 8th overall

Draft a defenceman with the 8th overall. Makar, Heiskanen or Liljegren will still be there at 8. Another tempting option would be Tippett, and Mittelstatd may well still be there, not to mention Petterson. The smart move would be a defenceman though.

Suddenly we have our top-2 centers (Reinhart, Horvat) ready to go. We have star wingers for the future on board as part of our core (Boeser, Dahlen). We have great intangeable two-way players (Baertschi, Granlund), we have a star goalie (Demko) and we have some great top-4 defencemen (Makar/Heiskanen, Juolevi, Stecher, Hutton, Gudbranson). All that team needs is an elite defenceman and they're a Cup-contending core. The 2018 draft will have several elite D-men go in the top-10, snag one and we're set.

I think Buffalo would be a good trade partner, as they may fit what GMJB would want in return, but not sure if Buff would.  Maybe SabresFan1 and Jaku can help me out a bit here with Bogo's value with Sabres.  From my understanding, Bogo is not working out for Sabres and many have him as a third pairing D-man, very high priced 3rd pairing.  Bogo was also left exposed for expansion.

GMJB has mentioned that he would need a dman in return if he were to consider a Tanev trade.  Sabres need a top 4 dman and young gritty 4th liner, since they lost Carrier.

To Sabres: Tanev and rights to Cramarossa

To Canucks: Bogosian, rights to Cliff Pu and 2018 conditional 1st (Maybe it would be conference finals or Cup finals, if Sabres don't make finals then it becomes a 2nd)

I think Cliff Pu has some really good potential.  He is 19 yo (6'2" - 192 lbs) and last year he recorded 35 goals and 86 points as a 2nd line center for London Knights.  The other thing that got my attention was an article from THN http://www.thehockeynews.com/news/article/prospect-need-to-know-cliff-pu-is-making-london-a-nightmare

One exerpt was the following "...he has become a fan favorite in London. During the playoffs, the crowd has started chanting “Puuuuuu” when he gets the puck, just like NHL fans have chanted “Luuuu” for Roberto Luongo."

And I was thinking if GMJB were to sign Kulikov to a 1 year show me deal, then maybe he and Guddy could be paired together like they were in Florida where they had much success.  Some players need that chemistry from another player.  so Canucks D could look like this

Edler-Stecher

Kulikov-Gudbranson

Hutton-Bogosian

Holm/Biega

and we keep restocking the prospect pool.

what y'all think
