Okay and this proves what exactly?  That at first I thought we had a Nylander type talent on our hands (which would be great) + We should of had a Cody Glass in our pool is well  But now we have a Petterson who has exceeded all expectations + Virtanen who isn't producing anything.  That post was not a shot at Petterson whatsoever but good try

Well, once again have to agree to disagree with you.   EP is not exceeding the expectations of Benning and his team as apparently they had him ranked as highly as anyone in the draft.   Second, Virtanen for the minutes he is playing is playing well and not creating any issues in his own end (where he needs the work) and is a plus player on the season and chipping in some offense.   Not sure what you expect of these players but it seems you either expect nothing (EP) or everything (JV) versus having some patience to let each find their own way/path to the eventual place in the league.

Totally agree.  The Canucks and many of its fans have the patience of starving mosquitoes.  Having been a Canuck fan since 1970, I have seen the consequence of that mindset: Vaive, Rogers, Derlago, Neely and many others.  I understand the impatience, but at last we appear to have a GM again that can find talent, lets appreciate that for a while with a little patience - in addition, I like what we have in this coaching staff - given the huge gap in our team player development that has left us with an aging roster that is being transitioned to a young one.

Nice post.  You have been a Canuck fan longer than I have been on the planet so great to see you weigh in on this!

No Rob he is exceeding all expectations, he's leading the SHL in scoring.   Nobody, not even Benning would of predicted that .  I don't know why people tell me to have patience, I have plenty of patience I just thought the Virtanen pick was the wrong one.  Big deal.

You know who needs to be patient?   The people who planned the parade after Jakes two game scoring streak that happened a month and a half ago.

I don't recall the parade plans - must have missed that.   There are no "wrong picks" as that implies you have a crystal ball, there are simply the picks you make and over time they work out how they do.   EP is showing he is at/near his pick year so far in development....I bet Benning thought that would happen.   JV is between 12-15 for his draft year in terms of production/games played, not sure that was predicted by Benning but far from a "disaster".   If every GM in the league got the absolutely best eventual player out of every draft, that would be amazing but afraid that never happens.

Check back in about five years and see where all these picks develop or not and that will be the litmus.  Who knows, you may be preoccupied planning a parade.

I haven't said anything negative about the team in months, because our team is doing well and we seem to now have a plethera of prospects who are doing very well and some D-bag had to quote me from June, not to mention he got the wrong idea from my post.  Even when I am positive I get dragged in to this garbage.  What the hell am I" supposed to do to make you people happy?

Who are "you people"?   I don't speak for anyone else and I am not dragging anyone into anything.   If someone posts something I don't agree with, I don't care if it was from the Cretaceous.   If I post something someone doesn't like, call me on it.   That isn't dragging me through anything.

I am not on here to make others happy....perhaps that is the fundamental difference between the two of us.   If you are looking to be liked on a message board, not sure you are here for right reasons.   I could give a goalies five-hole about what people think here but I really enjoy sharing insights and discussing with people - and hopefully those insights and discussion foster more of both.    Isn't that what this place is for?   If you want people to be happy with you, not sure that will ever work as you won't be yourself you will try and post what you think people want to here.

Here goes - I find a lot of your posts just fine, even the ones I don't agree with.   Again, if you will remember, I defended your right to some pretty extreme comments you have made at times.   HOWEVER, if you keep writing things I don't agree with I will probably respond with "I don't agree with you" but I don't try to drag you through anything and I certainly don't plan with "my people" about doing it.

Further, no sure who you are calling a D-bag either...but, see, that isn't helping when you do that either.

You have a very important view on our team.  It's much needed on CDC.

Ironic..

You can't help but take shots at me whenever you can but when I reply and make you look foolish you run away and hide.

Foolish?

Please do bring up a single time you've done that to anyone who has called you out in your treatment of Virtanen.

If anything you tuck your tail and scurry off every single time he proves you wrong with a grudging 1 line compliment when he has a good game.

I'm the furthest thing from obsessed with but i have always been a supporter of our prospects.  Even the failures

Maybe you should simply learn to not commrnt if it isn't constructive and face your comments when proven wrong.  As opposed to trolling the forum by going deep 6 when there isn't anything to criticize.

While I should learn to pipe down and stop telling everyone they're wrong.

Let us both work on that?

Nothing. You don't have to make them happy. Some people will always associate you with negativity because your opinions tend to be less optimistic than most of CDC, or at least they used to be. But there are people who value your opinion as it is.

It's always the same ones ganging up on him all the time too, I find it hilarious.

5th,

Do you get tired of the constant negativity?  Is this what you are like in your day to Day life?   That must be exhausting.

Cheer up and enjoy having so many prospects having amazing seasons, record setting is some cases.

This is something to do for fun and enjoyment. We’re fans on this site and there are things to actually cheer for.

Try it for a change.

Just a suggestion.

Not only that, but our D pool, which is already pretty shallow, looks downright pitiful without Juolevi.

Also, having Nylander and Laine would have prevented us from landing Lind as well, for what that's worth.

It doesn't work like that. If we had gotten Laine we probably wouldn't have sucked enough to draft EP.

Again, show me your magic crystal ball that lets you have unlimited access to multiple universes where things happen slightly differently
