Nucker 67
Hypothetical scenario If Pettersson goes full Dubois, who do you think we would get for him? I certainly don't want to lose Pettersson, but star players nowadays, if they aren't happy, they'll want out.

We won't get into a situation like PLD at Columbus with Greener and Pettersson. Neither do we have a coach like Torts nor is Pettersson's character comparable to Dubois' character.

I just don't see that happening either esp. while Travis is coaching. His style of coaching is very much different than that of Torts or the likes of Iron Mike. Personally, I think the Torts - Iron Mike style belongs in yesteryear and just does not work in today' s NHL as well as it did 20 to 30 years ago. Elite players have a lot more control now of their destinies especially in their early years in the NHL IMO.
Hairy Kneel
EP had some spark when he skated with Hoagie briefly in the third. I think Hoagie could spark Petie. Would like to see them together for a couple shifts.
fanfor42
Pretty bang on comparison for Petey's next contract is Barzal. Very similar point production. Both Calder winners. Barzal signed a bridge of 3 x 7 before this season.

But he is certainly not big. Don't know if I would actually want Petey trying that on a some big hulking Dman, but he thinks quickly enough to make the smart choice.

Even earlier he was struggling with points and passing a few too many times but still doing things right like going to the net and creating screens.
