How often do you find an elite centermen in the top 10? Going back to 2007, I could only think of Stamkos, Seguin, MacKinnion, McDavid, Matthews, Eichel, Barkov, Scheifele, and Draisaitl. 8 of the 9 are former 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall picks. Then you have guys who are first line centermen for their teams, but are a tier below these players; such as Couturier, Johansen, Couture, Monahan, Horvat, Keller, Nylander, Duchene and Schenn. His lack of scoring goals is a concern to some. However his goals production did vamped up after he was traded to Drummondville, and he would have been a 30 goals scorer if he played the entire season in Drummondville, where he had a better supporting cast than what he had in Saint Johns. I don’t think he’s on the level of any of those players. His goal scoring is not good, he’s turning into a pass first player because he knows his shot is not good enough. He’s a safe bet to be an NHL player, I just don’t see anything big from him.

As soon as the things become unrealistic “discussion” stops happening. alf you’re quickly going from that goofy uncle that doesn’t understand but tries to learn, to that annoying cousin that you can’t stand to be around. Maybe ease up, that is unless you are going for the most ignored user on the board. Thank you for the advice, but I will be who I am, which is a true Canuck's fan. This is why I believe Tkachuk will fall to us at 7, and the Oilers will want him to play with McDavid. They will also want Sutter, because they don't have a checking center. We will trade #7 and Sutter for Draisatl. It's going to happen!!! #Go Canucks Go!
Nucker 67
Blomqvist made a good point several pages ago (page 379 I believe, sorry I didn't quote). But Blomqvist was saying that the experts all have different ideas who is the 2nd best D after Dahlin. They all seem to have a different opinion, (excluding Dahlin) Boqvist seemed to get the highest ranking since January. This is the NHL final draft rankings for D: NA 4. Bouchard 5. Dobson 6. Hughes 11. Sandin Euro 1. Dahlin 2. Boqvist 5. Ginning

I think you are just desperately looking for attention and interaction from others in which you stumbled upon this site. You’re lack of Canucks past years knowledge and even recent history validates this. It’s either that or you’re just bandwagoner which is lowers class than being a leafs fan. Does it really matter what you believe about me? We are discussing the Canucks on a Canuck's sponsored Internet site. You can continue to insult me, but I will continue to promote the Canucks, while not insulting you, or any poster. Draisatl is the only player on the Oilers with any value, other than McDavid, and the Oilers are not trading McDavid. Sutter plus Tanev for Draisatl would be my first choice for a good Canuck's trade. I would rather keep #7, and draft a Dman.

Nucker 67
I understand what Alf is saying. Some of the proposals on these boards are laughable and very unrealistic, but we entertain them anyway. It's all for fun. How many Tanev trade proposals have there been? Chances are, the Canucks have no intention of trading him, but it doesn't stop fans from trying to trade him. lol We aren't GMs or pro scouts, we're fans who imagine all types of trade ideas. Bouchard seems to have been in the top 5 most of the year, same with Boqvist. Is it possible that 4 Ds are taken in the first 6 picks? Dahlin Boqvist Hughes Bouchard Would that be a record? Maybe the Canucks get lucky and land one of these guys. I would be happy with that.

However, this is Chia we are talking about. Who thought the Devils would get a potential Hart winner in Hall for Adam Larsson, or the Stars would get a superstar in Seguin for Loui E.? That guy has made some head shaker moves, so why not one more?

Tkachuk could keep getting passed over, like his brother, until it's EDM's turn and he's still there at #10. Chia will have a decision: Tkachuk or Ty Smith. EDM's got no patience, they'll take the forward, and trade Lucic for a D. Or how 'bout this? to EDM: Tanev, Sutter and Gaunce to VAN: Draisaitl VAN drafts Boqvist EDM drafts Kotkaniemi (to take Drai's place in a year) EDM then has their veteran right-shot D, their future #2C, veteran #3/4C and a big defensive depth forward who's good on the PK VAN gets their #1C and their right-shot puck moving D just having fun

Sugar baby watermelon
I like going on here to read other peoples opinions and the back and forth banter but the posters who come in and talk down on you or try to call you stupid in their own way or have no lack of hockey knowledge don't really have business posting. It won't really go away, I learn to ignore it, unless they are taking things too personal and questioning if I am a fan or not lol.

Also how does this trade make sense for them? Sutter isn’t someone you want to acquire to replace a 70/80 point player and a defenseman with a troubled injury history. Gaunce has next to no value and is a player they can just acquire on waivers next season.

But man, his finishing is definitely a level or two below. Has a very soft shot and there were times where he could have potted home goals if he had finish to his game. 6'1 195lbs. Can see him play at 215+ lbs. Unfortunately, I would still draft Hughes, Tkachuk, Wahlstrom, Boqvist, Dobson, whoever is available among those over Veleno. But if we somehow get one of the Islander's 11th or 12th overall picks, I'd for sure use it on this guy. I mean, Scheifele wasn’t know for his scoring abilities/shot but he turned into a pretty good goal scorer in the NHL. Same with Barzal. Then you have guys who can “rip the puck” like Dal Colle, McCann, Virtanen, Bennett, Yakupov, etc who have a hard time finding the back of the net.
