I don’t think he’s on the level of any of those players. His goal scoring is not good, he’s turning into a pass first player because he knows his shot is not good enough. He’s a safe bet to be an NHL player, I just don’t see anything big from him.

Passing is so passe

https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2018/05/oliver-wahlstrom-to-play-for-boston-college-in-2018-19.html

This, if true c,ould solidly put Wahlstrom in the top 5 discussion. It shows he wants to go pro as quick as possible.

He has the skills and game already. Needs to work on d zone and some questions about his intensity and perceived entitlement.

Does it really matter what you believe about me?  We are discussing the Canucks on a Canuck's sponsored Internet site.  You can continue to insult me, but I will continue to promote the Canucks, while not insulting you, or any poster.

Draisatl is the only player on the Oilers with any value, other than McDavid, and the Oilers are not trading McDavid.

Sutter plus Tanev for Draisatl would be my first choice for a good Canuck's trade.  I would rather keep #7, and draft a Dman.

Darnell nurse has value and so does klefbom even though klefbom had a down year.

Yes, Nurse has good value.  I hate the Oilers, but do like him.  Chia could trade Nurse to us too.

Lol. Good luck. I would build a statue to jb if that happened

Benning should consider packaging the 7th overall pick with another asset for Hanifin should Hughes, Dobson, and Wahlstrom be not available by the time the Canucks make that selection.

Hughes looks very close to being NHL-ready despite his size and he has that game breaking ability to open things up from the back end. Dobson is a gamer and has high potential to be a minute-munching top pairing defender who can do it all on both ends of the rink. Wahlstrom would be a great addition to our top-6 and is a potential 40 goal scorer. He holds great value because goals are so hard to come by. Those three are my personal targets for this draft and their play in the latter stages of the season (WC/Memorial Cup/U18s) shows their ability to elevate their games at higher level competition.

If those three are gone by the 7th overall pick that means guys like Tkachuk and Bouchard are still on the board. The Hurricanes could very well value a player like Tkachuk as he could step into the NHL (or AHL for that matter) very soon.

Tkachuk and Bouchard are excellent consolation prizes at seven. I say we keep the pick. We just don't have the assets that Carolina would want in my opinion to land a stud d like hanifan.

Horvat is better than Draiaitl....and EP will be our #1 center in a year or so...

They are hard to compare because they are different types of players

I think Bo being a better player than Draisatl is a given now.

I think not. Love Bo but there is a reason why the Deutschland dangler is considered the better player.

Coilers are notorious for way overpaying their players.  Dr. Drai is just another in a long list.

#Bo is way better than Draisatl.  :gocan:

I dunno about all this. All the numbers lead to Draisaitl being the better player. Defensive point shares are close. Giveaway/Takeaway ratio is pretty similar, but Bo isn't a puck carrier so his giveaways are much lower, but so are his takeaways. Draisaitl has far more takeaways. Before you say that's cause Bo's line is mostly in control of play when he's on the ice, that is also incorrect as Draisaitl's line actually controls play far more than Bo's line does. Draisaitl has better faceoff percentage, and their total faceoffs taken are pretty close.

Offensively I'd argue it's not really that close. Bo has 0 60 point seasons, Draisaitl has 2 70 point seasons. Defensively, Bo hasn't even been all that great. People are more surprised at his offense than his defense. I'd argue defensively they are closer than most think. Statistically, Draisaitl actually plays worse when on McDavid's line. He plays better down the middle, on his own line. Bo has far more PP points than Draisaitl too. Draisaitl has 11 PP points, Bo has 10 PP goals. That's significant because that means Draisaitl's numbers aren't inflated playing the PP with McDavid. But Bo's numbers might be because he played the PP with the Sedins and scored half of his goals on the PP. Guess who isn't coming back next season? The Sedins. This year will be a real test to see if Bo can score on the PP without the Sedins. He only had 11 even strength goals.

Long story short. Offensively the edge easily goes to Draisaitl, defensively it's closer than you think. People just hating on Draisaitl cause he is on Edmonton. Yes. As I type this I see you Alf, stop it. Draisaitl is a beast. Anyone that doubts that is silly and/or just a hater. I'd take Draisaitl on my first line over Bo.

Liam foudy. London knights c. Came on late in the season. A little raw but seems to have some crazy athleticism. Dad was a cfl player and mother a sprinter. Yeah, I can see the canucks spending a second or third on the kid. He fits the mold of a jb pick.^

Definitely gonna take a look at him. I been looking over the projected 1st rounders to death. Gotta start looking for some later gems. Thanks for giving me some direction on where to start. He sounds like he's got some good genes and you can never have too many centers.
