2018 NHL Entry Draft

Boqvist 2nd OA in mean power output, 3rd OA in peak power output, weighing in at 5'11.5 165 lbs while 17 and one of the youngest players in the draft. If you're still against him, I'd be interested in hearing why (not that he'll get to 7 after these results).

You just know Montreal has fallen in love with the Center Kotkaniemi and is entertaining the idea of moving down. However at the end of the day trading down risks you might not get your guy. I think they eventually come to terms with taking him at three over moving down a couple spots and risking Detroit jumping them and taking Kotkaniemi.

One of the youngest in the draft! This kid is going to be special! Really hope we get him. I’ve been on the Boqvist train pretty early! To put peoples minds at ease I was also on Pettersson quite early and he was my pick at 5 last year. I got a good track record :p!

Doubt we’ll have a chance to take Wahlstrom. 6’1, 205. Kid has NHL size already. Don’t see Dobson being there at our pick either.

I almost hope we don't have a chance to take Wahlstrom. It means someone else drops to us. We have wingers and I don't think Wahlstrom is better than Boeser. His shot is amazing and hes a great skater at that size but overall I'm not sold on how his game will translate.

Dobson on the otherhand, hopefully he is there but I agree he may not be. I see comparison's to Edler here but his IQ & calmness with the puck looks like Tanev to me. Except he's alot bigger, and has a good offensive game.

Dobson I personally think goes top 5. He's had a great last few weeks/months. If he is there at 7 I definitely think we should snag him.

I am not enamored by Boqvist.....but your track record makes me feel better if that is who we get!!

Curtis Douglas’s measurements.

6’8.5”, 247.7 lbs.

Not much taller than earlier in the year, but man that kid has filled out into his frame (Elite Prospects had his old measurements at 6’8”, 201 lbs).

Plus he finished 2nd in grip strength (left and right) and aerobic test duration. Also 2nd in wingspan but that’s expected at his height.

Do it, Hipster, do it!

Boqvist, Dobson, Wahlstrom.

My list at 7.

Assuming Svech or Dahlin does not fall, stating the obvious.

I have your list except backwards. I'd be happy with any of them though

The only concern I have for him is the concussion issue

In my own eval, we may be lucky to have more than one to choose from? My (un) educated guess is we'll have a choice of two;

Dahlin

Svech

Tkachuk  my guess as to a reach (I know, not many agree, but IMO Mon needs him more than Kotk)

Zadina

Hughes

Wahly

We pick Boqvist or Dobson

Dobson

Bouchard

Edmonton kacks themselves, takes Kotkaniemi. Or reaches, not really a reach, for Ty Smith.

I would be very happy if the draft goes as you predict, and we get Boqvist.  He has the highest offensive ceiling in this draft.  Plus, he’s still growing and maturing.  Maybe he’s a late bloomer, and ends up even better than Dahlin?

I really don't know where Tkachuk falls but I think he goes before the Canucks pick.  Besides that, I'd agree.  The Canucks should have their pick of 3 out of 4 of the top 5 D.  Wahlstrom is looking too good to fall after the top 5 D

Wow!

He tested well in several physical tests?

It could really hurt his draft position

Maybe late 2nd or to the 3rd round

IMO

......or Chicago takes him with a late 1st and he wins the scoring title
