He's a very cerebral d-man, really smooth skater, very nice offensive skillset, but very good in all 3 zones of the ice. He's a great size at 6'2 192lbs already, and also the Captain of London. Currently he has 18-45-63pts in 48 OHL games leading all defensemen in the O with points. I think he has top pairing upside, and would take him at 3-7 range. I like him. We need what he brings. I hope we take him.

He's my bet to be the disappointment of the top 10 which is where I'm expecting him to be drafted. BrockOtten of OHL prospects, best at covering ohl prospects, said in his midseason ohl player rankings "I've always been a fan of Bouchard, but I just didn't think his potential for the NHL level was quite as high as others (it can often be tough to read late birthdays in that regard). However, he's a made a believer out of me that he could be a quality second pairing guy who sees top powerplay unit responsibilities" Would be a very meh pick for me in the top 10. Would be more comfortable picking him in the 10-15 range. He says he lacks athleticism which to me is a big red flag as I like my defenceman to be dynamic and elite skaters. I also, question his intensity level and compete level in the d-zone. Much prefer Bode Wilde or Noah Dobson, but with a likely top 8 pick I think you have to go with a forward unless we get 1st overall IMO.

Not sure how his skating is or how effective he uses his body or is in his own end. His skating is really smooth and effortless, and he uses it to become the trailing player on a lot of rushes up the ice. He's got good size, but isn't overly physical in his own end. He's really good at using his stick to get the puck, using his positioning to block lanes, and does use his body sometimes to get guys off the puck. His defence is definitely more refined than some of the smaller guys in the draft.
KKnight
If we can pick up a mid first round pick, i would not be opposed to taking Veleno. I Watched a couple of their games and man is he an awesome penalty killer. A hound for the puck. His hockey Iq is really impressive and hes a very good passer. Definitely a player trending upwards. Thats saying we get our Dman with the first pick

Good for Vilardi, he was somebody I was hoping the Canucks were looking at heading into the draft, but I don’t see why he’s relevant to us at this point. Not knowing he was injured thinking he was faultering Vilardi is doing fantastic these days. I do take his recent results lightly because he got traded to the OHL powerhouse Kingston. Plays with Robertson and Pu. Pretty sure all the guys in Kingston’s top 6 have some pretty nice ppg of late. I didn’t want Vilardi or Glass at the draft because I didn’t think they were as offensively gifted as Pettersson or Mittelstadt. However Vilardi should have been picked before 10th. For me, he's the top dman after Dahlin and #4th overall. He does everything well. More importantly, I've noticed a lot of the top d prospects usually lack the grittiness in their game. This isn't an issue for him. Also, he's really good at getting pucks on net and shoots a lot, which is something that Canucks really need on the back-end. If Dahlin, Svechnikov, and Zadina are gone, I hope Canucks draft him. Reminds me of Werenski in that people were saying he's not as good as Hanifin or Provorov because he wasn't an elite skater. Actually werenski was my favorite d of that draft - a rare time I am kinda right lol I am really liking Bouchard as well but I'm not sure if he will be ranked ahead of Boqvist. right now bouchards my number 3 ranked dman

To me, if we are going to pick a defenseman with a mid lotto pick, it would have to be dobson. Good hockey iq with a freakish toolbox.

Isam
Really liking jake wise for a third or fourth rounder. The skill is still there that people talked about him being the number one in this draft a couple years ago, but he still seems to have not grown. The combine measurements are gonna define his draft. I also remember this guy being touted as 'the next superstar" back in 2015. Who knows, I wouldn't mind grabbing this guy with our 3rd, possibly even 2nd. He's playing in the USHL and is currently a PPG. He'll be going to BU next year too. Could be another Clayton Keller. Drafting from the USHL/College route seems to be paying dividends for our club thus far. Why not keep that going?

Would be a fantastic pickup if he’s there at our 3rd. I’m no scout so I don’t know why he’s had his sudden fall from fame because the skill is there. However anything in the 3rd round and past in the draft is really a lottery ticket.
