Nucker 67
Splitting up Dahlen and Pettersson? Seems to me they're trying to recreate a Sedins type of chemistry between those two. I do like a top line of Kane - Horvat - Boeser, followed by Dahlen - Pettersson - Virtanen. Baertschi, Pedan and a 5th for Kane? He just turned 26 a few weeks ago.

Maybe the Sabres would take something like this, considering they will lose him for nothing at season's end? plus, we really should have a ligit tough guy (who can actually play top six) here to help Gadjovic. Nucker 67
Kane, Virtanen, Gadjovich, MacEwen, Gudbranson and maybe Labate and Tryamkin would sure give the Canucks some bite. Add to that the speed, scoring and skill with Horvat, Boeser, Dahlen, Pettersson, Goldobin, Gaudette, Lind and Stecher, the Canucks could be a very formidable opponent in the coming years. Especially if Demko comes as advertised. Edited August 23, 2017 by NUCKER67

If they have future chemistry, great. IMO splitting them as per my lineup gives a better mix of size, play makers, shooters etc on both lines. Big no to trading for Kane. He'll be free (no assets) next summer. Edited August 23, 2017 by J.R.

Gives better options if we are being shut down.

Bissurnette
Not only does he have David Backes potential, he actually looks like David Backes. I'm excited. Hopefully he can work on agility and shot. They are the only 2 things missing from his game.

His agility does need work and I did think his shot needs some work as well...but ...it was good enough to pot him 40 goals in his last 41 games ( if memory serves ). I haven't seen his highlight video in awhile but he does have those ultra-quick hands in tight and I do remember quite a few of those type goals going in....those are the type of goals we don't score anymore...it was what Erikkson was supposed to do....we need someone to that this year besides Boeser but a couple years from now Gadjovich and MacEwen could be 2/3 of one heck of a 4th line. If he gets another chance with them I could see him forcing his way onto the team...he has everything that Smith has and he can score....so he just has to keep scoring. 30 in his first 30 should be enough for another invite. Derp...
It will be interesting to follow him this year. I expect he and Suzuki will tear up the OHL. If he makes the WJC, would love to see him finish with 40+ goals in 50 games. There's a good chance his defensive play will come a long way if his skating has improved too. His shot is decent, but there's definitely quite a bit of potential for improvement imo. His biggest asset is his net front presence and his ability to wreak havoc and deflect pucks in. I think it was 41 in 46 - which is still amazing. I'm confident Eriksson will get back to form this year and improve on last year. Gadjovich hopefully plays more than a 4th line role eventually but yes he is a good candidate who can chip in on the 4th line and work his way up the line up, unlike pure skill players who are usually not ideal to use on the 4th line.

Pettersson is also showing 'chemistry' with his current line mates... away from Dahlen (as I'm sure Dahlen will do, away from him). It's also important to have a good mix of attributes/skill sets on lines. While we could certainly, conceivably load up a line with say Dahlen, Pettersson, Boeser for say PP's or trailing in a game - should they all develop appropriately - I'd wager we'd be wiser to spread out the play-making, grinding, shooting etc on more than one line for the majority of 5v5. Dahlen/Pettersson would be a relatively small/soft (and not the fastest) duo that are both prone to play-making that other teams would surely key on. (Sound familiar? ) And Boeser isn't exactly huge either. Our top 6 will need some size/grit, shooting and speed in it. Now whether that's signing Kane next year as I mentioned last page or having some mix of Virtanen/Gadjovich (praise Gordie!) or another yet TBD player develop in to those complimentary spots, well, we wait and see. But as much as I love both Dahlen and Pettersson as prospects, personally I think it's slim chances they see loads of time 5v5 together given their size, similar skill sets and how the rest of the roster appears to be shaping up around them. Personally, I see Dahlen as the play-making wing on Horvat's left, long term. But things can and surely will change over the next few years Edited August 30, 2017 by J.R. His whole presentation, his attitude, his physical demeanor says determination. He doesn't pat himself on the back, he doesn't assume he'll make the team. The fact he mentioned skating is a key he understands exactly what he needs to do to make it past the Juniors. I noticed he seems to have lost weight and seems leaner while looking a little bigger... a good sign he understands the realities of the NHL game. I'm gonna predict he will eventually be a skater for the Canucks. https://thecanuckway.com/2017/08/07/vancouver-canucks-prospects-ranking-top-20-10-jonah-gadjovich/ Edited August 31, 2017 by *Buzzsaw*

His being comfortable in front of the camera and the way he looks the reporter in the eye shows his confidence. He measures his words and speaks like a seasoned pro. Hopefuly that confidence again transfers to the ice this season and he has a fantastic draft+1 for Owen Sound.
Sugar baby watermelon
if he plays on a line with Suzuki again, he will be a key contributer for goals. When Gadjovich moves up he may have another elite centre to play with in Pettersson, you never know right..
AlwaysACanuckFan
For me, I felt he was one of the prospects who stood out from the tournament. Was also nice to see him being rewarded with a goal by making noise in front of the net vs the Oilers.
