Elias Pettersson
Michael prefers steak over his Nonna's pasta. Nonna is not impressed... His hockey hero is Jonathan Quick and models his game after him and wants to be identical to him... Love this kid, hope he kisses and makes up with his Nonna…

He was ok against a garbage danish team, he only had to face 14 shots and maybe 1 - 2 was hard ( penalty shot was one ) , once we face either usa/russia/swedens etc and hes in the nets, than we can say if he did great/good or /qq My uncle could probably of gotten a shutout against denmark , felt bad for them ahaha 3
Kanukfanatic
Dipi was solid against Denmark but he did not exactly face a tough opponent. I hope he gets the #1 G spot though and kicks arse thru the rest of the WJC.

After Hunter’s postgame comments, it’s clear DiPietro is the starter and Canada will ride him through the tournament (unless he gets hurt, or loses the net through some truly poor play). Honestly, DiPietro couldn’t have gotten a stronger endorsement. “Mikey is our guy” and “it’s not an evaluation anymore” pretty much tells you that Scott can pitch a shutout next game, and it doesn’t matter—he’s the backup and Mikey is the #1. We’ll never win the Cup like that.

Absolutely, if you start game one of the tournament, it's your net to lose. He looked cool as ice last night.......his focus on the ps was fantastic. Even my gf said "wow, that kid was dialed in on that puck".

He just got bored and added in offensively to help the team. #assist

Papa Sawce
MD played awesome I thought, made some awesome saves and his one goal was a 2 on 1 had little chance on. I feel goaltender preformanced get overlooked in 5-1 games sometimes, excited to see him live on NYE vs russia it’ll be a real good test

Sean Monahan
Nice little piece on Mikey. canuckledraggin
Putting Mike Tendy out on the clothesline to dry. How's he supposed to save that 2nd Russian goal? 3 Canadian defenders waving their sticks at the puck like they're Harry Potter.
Dungass
Canadian Player of the game, not too shabby. I'd say he's won the starting job for the elimination round

I kept doing a double take, it wasn't a busy game for him but the big saves he did make looked very similar! The way he battles to make saves and how aggressive he is on the puck is exactly like Quick...not a bad goalie to want to emulate! And another plus, he's not a hot head like Quick is lol.
RetroCanuck
I like how his number is 64! Very cool story and it only gets better when you consider he was drafted #64 overall!
cyoung
Dudes been an absolute rock. I always get nervous about these big stages for our prospects and honestly they are all stepping up. Utonen getting minimal opportunities but not looking too shabby.

stawns
The team in front of you was pretty crappy all tournament mikey. You were a star, keep your chin up.
Popular Post Blömqvist
DiPietro is amazing. The Finnish shooters couldn't beat him clean. He battles for every save. Definitely Canada's best player for the tournament. 1
