So are we putting down the pitchforks for Mikey having to spend time with Ian Clarke and not getting enough games?

So I guess you think the trade for J.T.Miller for a 1st and 3rd round pick or the trade for Nate Schmidt for a 3rd round pick, were bad trades?

Le'ts put it this way. These were high points in a sea of trades Benning lost.

Plus we still aren't sure if Schmidt will pan out yet

I don't think his trades have been any better or worse than that of most GM's but some of his FA signings especially in the 1st couple of years at the helm are now hindering the ability to move forward.

I do think he has grown as a GM and I doubt you will see as many FA signings now that the team actually has a few decent top 6 players and more starting to develop on the farm.

The real issues now, IMO, is to either retain Sutter short term or find a good #3 center to take his place and to revamp the bottom 6 (that may already be in the works with the addition of Highmore) and if possible add a quality Dman if they opt to not bring either Edler or Hamonic back next year.

Benning is such a pushover....

Perpetuates the "good guy" persona the Canucks have become over the past decade+, which isn't serving the team well in any shape or form.

The Canucks need a bombastic, self-centric, narcissistic, take-no-prisoners type of leader so that other teams will know not to phuck with the Canucks.

IF Woodley's assumption that the Blues were pissed about the plans for Dipietro and the Canucks/Comets management capitulated, then it's time for the Aquilinis to get someone like Burkie back at the helm.  The Canucks need someone who is going to flip tables over and will opposing teams to "see it the Canucks way".
