Kosmo Kramer
I am cautiously excited about Jack. I am also very happy about him going the NCAA route, we will be able to see how he compares at such a level, compared to his previous season which was hard due to the league he was in. Looking forward to the updates of him at the young stars tourney and camp.

He was interviewed by one of the radio stations during prospects camp and basically said he wants to turn pro the moment he’s ready, development-wise. Doesn’t want to wait around and delay things, but also won’t rush himself and sacrifice his development. One or two years at Harvard, from the sounds of things, and then, if Jack and the Canucks agree he’s ready, he’ll be turning pro. Even going back pre-draft, Jack talked about doing maybe two years at Harvard and then going pro. His plan is to complete the rest of his degree in his spare time, while pursuing pro hockey as his career. Oh, and speaking of Jack, here’s the pinned tweet from his Twitter page: I hadn’t seen that video yet, so thanks to Jack for sharing it. Brought a smile to my face today. By now, we all know the story of Jack and his little brother Teddy, so it’s no surprise that he’d be moved by that “hockey is for everyone” video and want to share it. Same with Brock (who’s in the video), who also has a family connection with his sister, who also participated in the event. Future looks bright. Not just because of the quality of our pool, but also the quality of the young men in this organization who will carry the torch forward in terms of charity and community work. We have some very special prospects and young players, like Jack and Brock, who will thrill us on the ice in years to come, while also being good citizens and compassionate human beings that all Canucks fans can be very proud of. From my 60 year old perspective , JB seems to have “character” near the top of his check list when drafting players 3

Kootenay Gold
He is one to watch this season... Vancouver just might have themselves a real gem.

Sure hope so- it appears we need a few white knights to ride into this blueline if GMJB is to build a contender anytime soon.

We definitely need more than just Quinn Hughes added to the mix and Jack Rathbone might fill the bill as another high end puck moving D-man

SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
Rathbone and Harvard kick off their season tonight at 7pm ET (4pm Vancouver) with an exhibition game versus the USNTDP U-18s.
SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
About 30 minutes to puckdrop. Rathbone will play on Harvard’s second pairing for his debut. I’d expect to see him on their PP2 as well.

SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
Rathbone looked good on his first shift. Made a good defensive play to stop the US attack, and then showed off his shot at the other end, blasting one on the US goalie that gave him trouble and created a goalmouth scramble. No score but Jack looks good.
SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
USA 1 - Harvard 0 Fox got stripped in his own zone and coughed up the puck right in scoring position. Lindmark with the goal. This US U18 team is nuts. 19 players rated “C” or better draft prospects.
SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
Harvard to the power play. Hopefully Jack gets some time.
SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
Rathbone left point on PP2. No scoring. Harvard turned over the puck and Rathbone had to defend 1-on-1. Jack took the puck away and the USA forward ended up on his butt. Another PP coming for Harvard. SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
Better chances on the second man advantage. Rathbone moving the puck crisply, passing around and eventually getting it back and moving down for a shot. Then he collected the puck again, stickhandled his way around the entire attacking zone, and passed off to a teammate for a shot on goal. No goal but a solid shift on the PP.
