It gives those prospects like Dahlen who are on the cusp pf being NHL players time to develop both physically and mentally down in the AHL without forcing them into the NHL before they are ready and possibly stunting their development. It also sends a signal to young players like Horvat and Boeser who are already in the NHL that management isn't simply mailing in the season with hopes of bettering their draft odds. This is team is around 3 years away from competing for a playoff spot and now is the time for patience as we finally are building strong depth in our prospect pool. It's not the time rush. IMO this signing, and the others shows Jim Benning is going to be patient with our prospects and that's a solid sign for the future. Indeed..about time +

Sooner or later you have to start playing some of your own products what the motivation from this organization if the message is always the same we don't believe in you. That's what managment told markstrom when they adimtitly tried to resign miller again the same message to all the guys in the farm that should be making the jump this year or next. Benning gets caught up in the hype every year. You'd think after 4 drafts and a self proclaimed super scout he'd have found a few players that could handle the NHL. the best part is benning probably believes this is a playoff team now. Fun reading people complain about things and then make an argument that is plain unfounded.

I've seen a 1000 conspiracy theories about the draft and you're the first one to say you were being sarcastic, so.. I guess my bad for not being able to spot it? Better hope our crease clearing Dman plays 25 min a night and that Dorrest plays on the first line. This might be a painful year. In a millions years, I'd never have guessed a Linden team would look like this.

Agreed. like defending signing players to push NHL ready prospects out of the line up in a "rebuild". No competion at training camp no room for anyone regardless of performance.great message to the youth.

I don't even mind the del zotto and gagner signings but then Tanev and sutter should be on there way out. 189lb enforcers?
This might well be the softest team we've ever seen. It must be the smallest for sure. Size has to play to matter. It's not going to be fun watching Sam stick up for Goldy when the scrums and running of these small forwards happen. It's no secret on how to play this team. If Gagne was sandwiched between some, hell ANY, physical top 9 players, I'd be happy. It's going to be obvious to all in a few months and painful for those who still like Canadian-style hockey, to watch this team get bullied, as it stands today. Do any of you thing JB will change this size issue by October?
