Except what I posted came from actual sources. There were zero threads on both Burmistrov and Nilsson so I made threads so people could talk about it. Sorry that this made you so upset.

I wasn't upset.  I joined in the discussions and enjoyed the threads.  I just knew that they were going to get locked because of how they were tagged and worded.

  I'd say Team USA, but nobody in their right mind would want that hot mess...

You seeing a specialist to get your mind right?

PS - thank God someone else on this board gets sarcasm.   In so many threads, and I can only assume they are either 12 or simply in front of a keyboard 24-7, it seems to be a skill (sarcasm detection) in short supply.

The only people that could have been confused about how they were tagged and worded don't deserve to have things dumbed down to that level (I don't believe that you are in this category, just saying that I don't think I was doing anything to mislead anyone).

Skip to pages 3-4 bud, it is filled with [Report], [Rumour], [Discussion], etc. You are simply wrong. I used the exact language used by Friedman, LeBrun, etc., don't know why a select few are such whiners.

Every single reported signing was confirmed. All that was required was waiting for league approval.

I changed my post with an edit right away the second after I posted it including the Rumour tag....  Those get closed as soon as signings are official.  Always have.

Of course you weren't.  I'm sure most realize that you meant well.  The mods are just very particular with the way things are posted in this section because of past bad experiences...

My sarcasm detector is definitely not 100 percent accurate but I do try and pay attention to the flow of a conversation and detect it's changes when they happen. ^_^

Is it just me or did we basically clone Markstrom, and sign him for a bit less??

Stoked to have the 2 big Swede's backstopping our team. Should make it easy for players, as I imagine both will play a very similar game under Cloutier.

I think we could've signed him for a little less. There are a lot of other backups who make ~1 million less than him. Given his age, term and the team he signed with, we probably couldn't have done a lot better.

He's a stopgap for Demko though so it's not that big a deal.

Honestly, I believe that Nilsson and Markstrom are closer to a 50-50 split than most people seem to think. 60-40 anyways.

That's probably true, but I wouldn't say that means we should pay him slightly more. He's established himself as a backup, so his salary should be in line with that as well.

For example, Megna played a solid amount of games this past year. That doesn't mean he should be paid around the same amount as a regular NHL'er (1.5-3 million).

Just to put things into perspective.... Nilsson is actually a year younger than Markstrom and their stats are almost exactly identical.

Markstrom with 2.91GAA and 0.906 SV%

Nilsson with 2.94GAA and 0.908 SV%

Maybe this will like Markstrom know that his time is running out and he will need to take the reins or he will lose it.

Didn't Nilsson post an excellent .926 SV% last year? And that's with an atrocious Buf defense in front of him. Seems he may have figured things out.

Best UFA goalie out there, and that includes Ryan Miller. Very happy with this signing.

Some of the eastern media actually think Nilsson might be the better of the two. This signing is getting some favorable reviews.

They're both 27 I think.
