Politician trolls woman about her husbands suicide

Brian Sklar a former candidate for the NDP in Saskatchewan trolled a Conservative politician about her husband's suicide recently. So far not a peep from the CBC, you can bet if it was reversed it would be front page news there. It has become acceptable to say and do the most awful things by a small but very vocal segment of the left. It's pretty shocking to see someone actually troll someone twice about something as awful as losing a spouse to suicide but there it is. I'm a conservative generally but I personally know the guy who ran in the provincial election here recently and can't imagine him ever doing something like this. I just wanted to bring this out into the open since some of the mainstream media in this country won't, I'm sure glad we have a growing alternate media these days to report what they want to cover up. I would still like to believe that most people wouldn't stoop this low regardless of what political beliefs someone would hold, hope I'm right...............

And her response to what this guy posted on her Facebook page:

Senator Denise Batters

Dear Brian Sklar:

You refer to me as a “Harper troll”…may I remind you that you are the one posting insults on my Facebook page?

You’re free to hold your own opinions, but my husband’s suicide is not a topic of discussion for you to score cheap and misinformed political points. Especially galling is the fact that you would choose to make those comments the day before the anniversary of his death.

Take your vitriol elsewhere.

Sincerely,
Denise

Did you send an email to the CBC telling them about this story, or do you just think they know about it and don't care?

This is simply not true at all.  First the left was a bunch of snowflakes, now they're trolls and killers?

I will, but I know they won't report on it, they don't care because it doesn't fit their narrative. Seen it too many times.

It is true, no one said it was all of them, just a small and vocal segment of the left.

I would like to hear what you guys have to say about what this guy said, instead of talking only about the media.

I can bet a few CDCers will go through this general process...

CDCer: "A politician is trolling someone about their husbands suicide? I can't wait to rip into this asshole!!"

-Enters the thread, sees that it's an NDP politician trolling a Conservative.-

People have said stupid regrettable things on all sides of politics probably since politics began.  Doesn't make what this guy said right, but this isn't a new disturbing trend from the left.

i read the first 3 sentences, then i stopped cause it was too stupid.

So you are ok with people throwing the fact that someone committed suicide into the face of that person's spouse?

no, I think its reprehensible and he should be punished (ie; told to apologize or resign) This type of discourse shouldnt exist in the realm of public servants and it seems to be getting worse in general.

Good, that is the reason I decided to bring this up since it wasn't being reported by the mainstream media.

Maybe but they'd find some other outlet. We're in a very weird age where technology has allowed some real a-holes to get an incredible about of international attention. Its too bad that we haven't quite figured out how to ignore them yet.

after reading the whole story i find it to be not news worthy. the guy was a former candidate, he has apologized and its really not worth any national attention. also i got rid of the minus. The guy is a class A moron. end of story.

Actually it is. You only need to look at the vitriol of Campus movements. Whether it's things like Black Lives Matter, the 3rd wave Campus feminism, and many others. They supposedly represent decent things, mainly egalitarianism, but what they preach is discrimination and hatred against the perceived dominant demographics. It's extremely hard to remain "politically correct" while challenging them on their viewpoints because then they shout you down with charges of "racist, bigot, homophobe"... etc... This is common practice and I'm honestly shocked that at this point you don't know about it, or that it didn't immediately occur to you as the left going crazy. I don't have the time to fully explain exactly why it's bad and what EXACTLY they do.

Why don't you go research it? If you care to be informed on these issues anyways. Just know that your current opinion is most certainly objectively wrong.

Also, I don't think it's accurate to refer to Sklar as a "politician". He was a candidate and a staffer, but AFAIK, has never been elected to public office.
