shanghai o
Canucks offer: Baertschi, Hutton, Sutter Canadiens offer: Galchenyuk, 3rd Evident MTL looking to push for stanley cup now, great team with elite players however important holes to fill to be a top team from the East. Combination of Baertschi and Sutter can replace the production of Galchenyuk, where Baer fills as a 2nd line LW and Sutter is a MUCH needed presence down centre ice with a big body, and willing to play a gritty game. Hutton is a young semi-established top 4 Dman that is of strong value and lines up on the left side most likely with Jeff Petry as the second pairing. They already traded Sergachev for Drouin, so in a way this helps fill the void of that loss. Montreal Lines after Trade: Pacioretty-Danault-Drouin Baertschi-Sutter-Gallagher Byron-Plekanic-Shaw Alzner-Weber Hutton-Petry Benn-Schlemko Price -More balanced lineup and addition gives them a more responsible and offensive 2nd line, as well a 2nd pairing young dman. Canucks are in rebuild and looking to bring in young players, an elite force like what Galchenyuk could be, should be a primary target for Benning to look into, as well doubts about him playing centre could have him lined up as LW with Horvat which could be an elite tandem in a couple years and help build each other into better players together. Vancouver Lines after Trade: Galchenyuk-Horvat-Eriksson Daniel-Henrik-Granlund *Virtanen/Rodin-Gagner-Boesser Edler-Stetcher DelZotto-Tanev Holm-Gudbranson We lose Hutton which we do not have an immediate fix for as suppose to Baertschi who can hopefully be replaced by one of Boesser, Goldoblin, Dahlen in a few years. However Juolevi should be close to making the lineup this year and will focus on drafting defensemen moving forward, however this defence lineup is decently solid going forward and will constantly look to add. Galchenyuk will either line up as LW with Horvat or Petterson for years to come, and gives you that big body, game breaker player capable of 35+ goals that will be necessary to come out of the West against players like Mcdavid & Draisatl, or Gaudreau and Monahan. Bam.

The Lock
I doubt Montreal does this to be honest. Considering they don't have Markov or Emelin's contracts anymore they have cap space to sign Gal, I would imagine they'd want to have the 1 player in Galchenyuk that can do the stuff our 2 players that we're providing does in Sutter and Baer. I don't think montreal moves Chuck for a package but I would rate Horvat over him any day. Horvat had 8 more points last season, is younger, superior defensively, and can actually play center. This while playing on the second worse team last year. To add Boeser is nuts

Bo is already better than him. I think OP has it pretty even value wise. Regardless, I'd want to speak to his agent before trading for him. If he wants anything north of 5 mill, I see 0 value in Alex.
qwijibo
Montreal passes. They arent looking for a selection of lessor players. Sutter is a 3C, always has been, always will be. Hutton is interesting but doesn't project to be a top pairing guy. Baertschi is nothing special and doesn't fill a need that can't be filled internally . They need a true 1 or 2C and a top pairing lhd. The OP doesn't even have a grip on Montreal's roster considering he doesn't have Hemsky or Lehkonen listed in thier top
Dixon Ward
I think this is a terrible deal for the Canucks. I would not give up those 3 for Galchenyuk and a 3rd. Maybe a 1st.
Monty
Classic quantity for quality. Montreal says "no", simply because they won't do a 3 for 1 trade.

To add Boeser is nuts You see, most people think the grass is greener on the other side. Litterally thousands of posts on this forum are about how other teams' players are infinitely better than Canucks garbage players. The other thousands of posts are the utter surprise people display when a player is traded for less than the extremely arbitrary attempt at assessing player value on this site. then there's the rain. The rain makes people wish they were somewhere else. I learned to carry the rain in my heart and have a happy life. Therefore, I agree with you that adding Boeser is nuts. Rob_Zepp
Montreal are a team likely to have a significant fall sooner than later unless they can grab some better talent. They are such a mish mash right now. The trade proposal would only add to the mish mash I am afraid. They need a legitimate first line player if they are going to trade G.
