Beary Sweet
Good for him. Hopefully he gets a chance for a run at it as this may be his final crack at Lord's Stanley
-Vintage Canuck-
Seems like they Oilers are trying to go all-in this upcoming season before McDavid's big cap hit kicks in.

They got him at $1.1 for the year. Even after they get Leon worked out......they are still going to have 8-9 left for this year only. Some people in Edmonton are thinking an Iginla/Jagr 4th line. Lancaster
Remember when he was supposedly a one-dimensional shoot-out specialist that won't last in the NHL?
kloubek
This is actually an excellent signing for the Oilers. While he is obviously declining, this guy is gold in the shootout and can still contribute. And at that price? No brainer. The suggestion of them adding a vet like Jagr or Iginla (the latter of which is almost sacreligious but whatever) would also help them tremendously. They certainly have cap issues and I'm interested to see what happens with Leon, but for the short term I think if they get in some vets who can keep the team calm and still contribute at the same time, I believe they are a team to watch for cup contention next season. Rob_Zepp
Nice placeholder signing with no commitment into their CAP crunch coming. Should help shore up their 200 foot game as well.

Iginla /Jagr makes so much sense it would make me puke. They would deffiently win the cup with them 2. Please don't do this guy's, the Oilers have had enough good fortune lately. God I hate them Jagr to PIT/CHI Iginla to CGY
