We would like to thank @70seven for very fun and exciting negotiations. We were at the planning board for a bit on this one but we are happy to add a 1st rd pick in Cholowski to the fold. As a team who lacks draft picks it is important we are able to build some of our future by dealing good aging assets for youth. We will miss Goligoski's 3.7ppg, but with Cholo lighting up the WHL, we are hoping that can one day follow him to the NHL. We had to do some research in our scouting dept about Johansson but our scouts came back with nothing  it good things about him! Thanks to MM for processing, thanks to Alex for the year he had with us, and welcome Dennis and Emil.

Well, I might be the least surprised here, but still shocked...

Aleksi Heponiemi has now passed his point total from last year, in 37 less games.

GP 35   G 23   A 65   P 88

That Swift Current top line is ridiculously dominant this year. I got to see Ryan Johansen and Nino Neiderreiter on the same line for 2 seasons and they didn't come close to matching those point per game totals

Well?

Having a rough week.  Getting trashed by Florida & Carolina. So I thought I would do a prospect report to cheer myself up :ph34r:  ;

> Henrik Borgstrom with 4 goals / 5 points his last 2 games. Placing him 2knd in the NCAA in scoring, the top player on a possible repeat champ? :towel:

> Cal Foote possibly our top D prospect, 6'4'' & 212 lbs, Cal has an outstanding 39 points in 36 games with WHL Kelowna & a solid showing at the WJC.

> Not sure who is better comp for Cal? 19 YO Chad Krys 19 points in 23 NCAA games. Or 20 YO Oliver Kylington with 19 points in 35 AHL games & due an NHL call up?

> Anatoly Golyshev at 21 having KHL comeback year. 29 points in 37 games playing with Tryamkin. Also had 25 KHL goals 2 years ago, next wingman with Tavares on the Isle?

> Our prospect D depth is also stacked. 18 year old Jakub Galvas had a game winning goal , and game tying assist in a standout WJC tourney! At 18 in his 3rd Czech pro year!

> Lucas Carlsson, Filip Westerlund & Filip Berglund, all D have embedded themselves on SHL teams. Carlsson 2knd year running top 10, 20 & under SHL player performance!

> Injury replacement guy Ben Harpur already has his 20th NHL game this year!

> G Tristan Jarry, we may call him graduated soon (?), is in danger of passing starter Matt Murray in wins & fantasy points this year in NHL Pittsburgh? :frantic:

Cheers!

Great trade guys.

@D-Money you got some stones to make this deal. Losing 1 maybe 2 playoff players and a great prospect. But Heinen is probably worth it.

Thanks to @Sygvard and @Sestito'sHandMadeVodka for the transparent negotiations.  Always a pleasure.

The idea for this trade came up a while ago, but we were unsure. But now Carolina looks like they're probably going to miss the playoffs. We're guessing that Toronto will try to acquire another RHD, which will affect Carrick's minutes - or maybe he is part of the trade. And although Woll is a great prospect, he's years away from helping.

In return, we get a waiver-ineligible 4+ fpt/gm player on the hottest team in the league, with only an $800K cap hit this year and next. For us, that's pure gold. So although we gave up a lot, we're also very happy with the deal.

God this one makes me so nervous. I am hoping that we are selling high after an unlikely rookie hot streak, and not selling low at the start of a sparkling career. Either way, D-Money will get his waiver free impact player this year. It makes me feel better that Heinen largely came out of nowhere on my radar; both him and the returning assets feel like found money.

As a team that still doesn't have the depth to ice a full roster every night, it was hard to pass this up. Brock and Connor let us flesh out some empty roster spots with young players on good/upcoming teams without sacrificing production. Neither have game breaking talent, but both show well in the system. Woll is someone we have had our eye on for a while. As we continue to ice a goalie-less roster every night, it is nice to bring in someone that we consider a real A goalie prospect. Joseph is the 4th solid goalie prospect we have brought into the system this year: somewhere in there is our solution in net.

Thanks again to @D-Money and @Monty. Transparent is a good word. It is always nice to lay out concerns and targets without having to posture. Extra shout-out to AGM @Sestito'sHandMadeVodka for his insider Leafs scouting. Carrick and Woll are his babies on this one.
