ActionJax09
Not a lot of activity trade wise this season. Are guys not around/paying attention? Should we do a roll call to see who is still active?

I haven't had much luck getting responses but then again I am " that " guy, you know, C level prospect and pending UFA offering for top four offensive blue liner lol. Don't forget to utilize discord, found it quite useful, anytime I am on there its me yay!

Happy to carry out trade talks when that occurs.

ActionJax09
My frustration from lack of activity is mainly because I know there are teams that are not maxing out their NHL roster and I have players available that could fill those spots. Yet no inquiries have been made. Teams that are not doing their best to maintain a roster should be reminded that their role as a GM could be in jeopardy. Mike Vanderhoek
Not going to lie it's disappointing to hear some are just not even bothering to keep tabs on their own teams or engage in trade talk ( teams are being tracked and ownership does send pms without a doubt ) as updates are not current. Flip side I know everyone wants a perfect world where everything is current and all the roster moves re: demotions, call-ups, waivers, injuries are all listed out for them on capsheets....really was under the impression most here made the effort albeit small to maybe have their own sheet with their moves, roster status, cap situation etc. To even take a few mins and search in the thread one can see where their players are or roster's status, not being ignorant just felt the onus is on the GM to have an idea of what they are doing too. Again, it falls on a lot of deaf ears and thats fine but updating sheets is done on a volunteer basis, there can be at any given time none, 1, 2, 3, or even 4 members who can update things when available, the goal is to get to current and daily updates but as has been stressed time and again all moves get backdated and nobody loses points. I understand the mindset of some here is " do it for me " as I have literally had private messages to that affect....that kind of thing is fine, nobody here is getting a red carpet rolled out for them and if they want to be a member awesome love to have a full house but again this is all volunteer time and as much as some volunteer to update things we all rely on everyone volunteering their time and it is far beyond much appreciated. A lot of behind the scenes correspondence takes place as well with current events, player issues, roster issues, contract negotiations, waiving of clauses, general discussion to better the game and so on. Real life happens too, i'd love to say there is no excuse the League cannot be up to date 110% at all times, but it doesn't work that way, it actually never has but people saw maybe a week at most throughout seasons without updates and the bitching was minimal if any at all and i'd hope members here would understand that nobody is more frustrated about updates then the one who volunteers so much time doing them, @canuck2xtreme who through his own " real life " stuff still does what he can when he can and asks more of himself than anyone here. Anyways here's to 2018!

Anyways here's to 2018! Fully agree. I hope my comment wasn’t taken as a slight to th executive. I know it can be a lot of work. It was about the GM’s. That being said any team looking for a bottom 6 Forward give me a shout!

winterhawks
One way to keep track of your team is to make a copy of your teams spreadsheet and Google makes it very easy to do so. It may not be 100% accurate because of how cap hits decrease throughout the season but it will provide a great tool to stay on top of your team. It can also be used to see how potential trade acquisitions will affect your cap hit. The Ottawa Senators are in a tight fight for the last playoff spot in the East and don't want to count on the additional Fowler and Niskanen points to squeak in. We are willing to make some moves to improve our roster, this likely won't happen in the form of a blockbuster trade but instead with smaller trades to tinker with the team. Primal Optimist
Dont want to pick at a scab but its one thing to track your club and not "need" updates but its another thing altogether to only just now today January 6th be updating the team sheets and pickuphockey for the 31st day of the season's transactions. That is all i wanted to add to the discussion. Its two years in a row of massive dissapointment that has apparently now cost us 1/8th of our players if i understand correctly that 4 GM's have already left the game? I must edit to say that I am disappointed due to my love of this game. Not a hater.

Wilb has left us from Dallas Who else has left this game ? Regardless updates are happening, not current to daily updates at this point but getting there. Appreciate everyone's dedication and sticking through the disappointment of not being up to date regularly.
Primal Optimist
yeah its a good game and worth waiting for the hiccups to be ironed out..but just at a quick glance at the first page fist post list of GM's i haven't heard from or seen from about 12 of us in a long long long time here in thread or in PM's. shrug. I know we all should be tracking our own stuff and i do my best to do so on a private 'team sheet' but when mine is out by 9 active players right now, i don't even know who is still on your roster to try to talk trade about...which kills the mood, ya dig? I could be chasing Mikael Backlund around 3 different GM's and still not find who owns him now.....as an example, lol. at the end ofthe day I am very happy to see updates are trickling in and I understand life happens, my only suggestion is the same one i have been stumping for years: more fingers on the launch codes...what is the worst that can happen? this. what we have here is pretty much the worst case scenario, isn't it? Primal Optimist
what I would rather talk about though is how about Casey Mittelstadt? whoa that man is a point machine....too bad the rest of his club couldn't make it happen, but then again, good for team Canada! Fair enough, and yes it would be nice if teams kept track more so I guess I should say but your point about Mikael Backlund I understand ( also NJ property now I believe ). Your concern and suggestion has not fallen on deaf ears and is being implemented. Thanks
